The lack of upward compression options in Melda is what is making this hard to replicate.

Yeah, exactly, and it's not like "bad" copying at all, he literally made it so that people using other DAWs than Live could also have access to the OTT setting/vibe in their tracks, using a go-to plugin that is DAW independent, as it had become a staple in many electronic genres, used in varying amounts by producers working in Live. He also introduced it with this exact reasoning already at the moment he published it.

I got it wrong, Ableton was first.

The range parameter will not do what you need. The only way to achieve it without upward compression is to use auto gain, but that comes with it's own problems.
I will upload a replica soon, I have already put a lot of trail and error into this.

this shit might(might i say!!!!) work but it will be constant so
a +5.20 db gain + a input gain may work (for threshold stimulation)
trying it out (but will do it tomorrow cause its 2 am here)

I tried that, but I was not getting a 36db gain increase. There is something more happening under the hood that I cant work out. Even with the correct ratio of upward compression and the 5.2 input with 15.3 output, there is nowhere near enough gain.

I cannot see how up to 36db of gain is possible with a ration of 4.17:1.

Doesn't meldaproduction mdynamics do expansion/upwards compression? Is it achieved in a different technical manner that may impact sound?

MDynamicsMB includes an ott active preset called over under, or something like that. It's the one on the bottom.

And yes, the Melda dynamics contain all permutations of upward/downward compression/expansion. Anything is possible.
