Hi all,
Long time T and now WF user. I hate automating parameters (e.g., reverb room size) by mouse. I want to use an external controller for this purpose. I want to be able to assign a knob/slider on the controller easily to any parameter I want in WF (e.g., plugin parameters or track volume, etc.) and I will move the knob/slider as I listen to the track to record automation.
Would something like the Korg nanokontrol accomplish this? I'd rather get something affordable and small like that.
I just want to make sure so that I don't regret a purchase. Thank you very much!

Yeah, some javascript -> automatic assign of macroes (and possibly values if no macros) would be great. I love Ableton for this.

Have you tried the MIDI learn features? It's really as simple as:
1) Turn on MIDI Learn
2) Move a plugin parameter
3) Move controller knob

I am currently using the novation slim Mkii, it is a great DAW and plug-in controller. It's key features for me is the display and everything is touch sensitive the knobs, buttons and faders.
