Problem and settings for T7 transport?

I have a friend that I am helping to learn T7. He seems to have done something that has stopped the "transport', whenever you click play or record the scroll cursor will not move and nothing hapoens, it just sits there...I can't figure out what he may have done. I think there may be a simple setting that I am missing- such as a sync setting, is T7 looking for a "run" command from MIDI or somewhere else? I can't find such a setting.
Why is T7 not responding? the computer is not frozen and niether is T7, all of the other functions seem to be working. I still think it's a setting he must have tripped but I can't find it.

Check he does not have 'loop' enabled with the markers on top of each other - this can result in the play position essentially staying in the same place as it loops between the markers

this, or when there is no audiodevice available (check in settings) it will not play

this is one of the shortcomings of the I/O marker concept.TSC wrote:Check he does not have 'loop' enabled with the markers on top of each other - this can result in the play position essentially staying in the same place as it loops between the markers
i think, a situation like this should possibly be avoided.
transferring the I/O marker concept and its functionality into a range-concept (ranges that can be drawn over tracks/timeline) would be a great workflow achievement for tracktion, i believe.

So if the markers are right on top of each other, then the app will show a warning if loop mode is enabled - so it would require the user to spread the markers and zoom out sufficiently that the gap disappears. There are protections in place to avoid obvious errors
