How does this work???
It´s set to every 5 minutes... Does it simply override the original edit or does it save backup files??? If so, where are these backups???

Auto-save saves to a temp hidden file. If the app or a plugin crashes meaning it can't save, when you next start Waveform it will check for this temp version and ask you to load it.
Saving manually delete the temp version so it won't nag you about it.
