I made a little vid...please have a look:

Yes the new stack view is great and the new ability to connect outputs sequentially is a great time saver. I can now load multi-output instruments very rapidly. The idea in image line is nice but the auto connection of plugins in the stack view achieves more or less the same. It's very easy to re-order plugins and is another great time saver. When I upgrade to 9 I'll likely put all my effects in racks because I love the faceplates and it'll save lots of mouse clicks. I also get the crash when clicking the menu button.

Have you also checked out the new options to quickly clear wiring and patch up to inputs/outputs? Right click on the rack editor background or a plugin in a rack to see it:

The crash behaviour in the stack view I already reported during the beta testing (then I stopped testing the rack functions) so I am a little surprised that it still happens now in the released version ?

That may have just slipped us by or we weren't able to reproduce?
Do you have a link to the report so we can take another look please?

Posted it somewhere here in the forum, will have a look if I can find.

I did not sent a report cause I have all the "sent crash messages automtically" buttons turned on so I thought it will automatically be sent to you. In the betatesting I only tried it out one time as I said, then after the crash dont test the rack function anymore (it was the first or second click I did....)

But can confirm bug actually, just tried it a moment ago, instantly crashes WF 9.033. Win 7 64 bit.

Actually I meant this video to show problems with the stack view... 8)

There are both... pro and cons...
The Image Line way has the advantage to have automatically a volume handle and mute function, which is especially helpful when having parallel routing and there is the strength as well for being able to auto connect directly in the modular editor...

Stackview has it´s strength in being a simplified view and rearranging the plugins...

I reported this as well: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 7#p7006857

Another problem I found:

In Stack view there is no way to show the rack properties in the lower properties panel after any inserted plugin was selected...
In normal Rack view you just click on empty backround but this doesn´t work in Stack View

Yes you're right it doesn't work so well with parallel effects and it is fiddly manually connecting things when you want to experiment. I wouldn't say no to something like in image line, it would be helpful.
