I've got a copy of Waveform 8 Ultimate, and I'd like to upgrade to Waveform 9. Since I already own the essentials plugins and Biotek, is there any reason for me to not just get the basic $59 upgrade?

I have same problem, I did not looked in detail but there should be a possibility to update biotek to biotek 2 OUTSIDE the bundle, so that you can buy the basic update and biotek update separately.

Biotek 2 isnt out yet, though, is it? No it is not but I am not so sure about it cause the value of the "ultimate" etc. packages lies in selling new content with it.
As far as I know now Biotek is the first case in which there will be an update to version 2 with some of this content.
And as it is already listed in the ultimate package as "including biotek 2" might be of interested to know for someone if at least there will be a way outside the package to upgrade (normally it should be of course but I think in case of upgrades Tracktion acutally is really confusing...).

I can't imagine a scenario when they would release a VST that works in other DAWs (Biotek), that you can buy separately, as a v1 version, that you can't upgrade to the v2 version, without buying a Waveform Ultimate bundle. TSC have said that anyone who buys or upgrades BioTek now (as part of a bundle or otherwise) will get BioTek2 when it comes out for no extra. As Chico says, there is no way that there will not be an upgrade price from BioTek to BioTek2.

Sorry but it's still confusing for me. I have the Waveform 8 Ultimate license as well.
I feel the upgrade price to 9 Ultimate is pretty high and surprising ? Only $70 difference with new ultimate license purchase...
What do we get for that price that we do not have already (W8 Ultimate)? What's "really" new"?

If you already have the stuff from the Waveform 8 ultimate package, buy the $59 upgrade for just Waveform.
DAW Essentials hasn't changed. New version of Biotek isn't out yet.

If you already have a bundle you don't need to upgrade the bundle. The confusion is because there really isn't a bundle upgrade path. You already have the same extras in the existing W8 bundle.

Hmm.. would like to upgrade my Waveform 8 Ultimate to WF9 U. but I'm still confused and unsure...
If I only buy the Waveform (Basis) upgrade, fine, it's cheap... but what will happen next time the ultimate pack will be upgraded? I will not be eligible or what (as I will not have the "real" registred Waveform 9 Ultimate Pack)?
And for now I have Biotek 1 in my Waveform 8 Ultimate pack... but I will not get Biotek 2 if I only choose the Waveform upgrade, right?
