Is there a generic MPE controller script usable with the Sensel Morph?

I have a Sensel morph which supports some kind of alpha stage MPE output since a couple of weeks.
Using it to play with Aalto in MPE mode within Plogue Bidule works like a charm.
Each played key / note is wrapped in its own channel, pressure on the key = channel aftertouch, x movement on the key = channel pitchbend, y movement = channel cc 74.
Which controller script should I use in Bitwig to get the best results with using the Sensel Morph?
How could the described output be linked to Bitwig's expressions (pressure, timbre, etc.)
Any help or hint welcome... Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

No Sensel Morph Users here?

No Morph here, but you can try the "Joue" script that comes with BWS 2.2.3. The Joue is very similar in concept to the morph, but only targeted at music making (http://www.play-joue.com/en/the-product/).
Then in the input selector for your track, select the Joue and it's "Mpe" input.
Then right-click on your instrument and select "Force MPE Mode" (not sure if this is needed, don't have an MPE controller myself).
Inside of Aalto make sure to also set it to MPE in the gear icon menu input selector.
Cheers,
Tom

Yeeehaa Tom,
I tried the Joue script with Sensel morph and it works... pressure and timbre are now recognized and pitchbend is per note.
Great thanks for yr help.
I read about the Joue script but having nearly no clue about the internals of Bitwig controller scripting I thought it was exclusively tied to that specific controller.

In most cases it is true that scripts are very specific, but in this case it's more or less a generic per-channel-midi script with MPE added as an option.
Cheers,
Tom

Here's a basic MPE script that I've started for the Morph. It is in its infancy - I don't even have a repo for it yet!
But it works to get basic instrument playing going with the different overlays, and transport works. The 8 "knobs" on the MP overlay will serve to control the Device knobs on the selected track.
If you assign the "loop" (top right) button MMC "Record Exit" using the Sensel App, it will toggle clip overdub on/off.
Once I get a proper repo going, I'll update this thread.

Thank you... so much for yr work.
MPE expressions work, Transport controls work... even with changing overlays during session.
But the MP overlay knobs (CC 9 - 16 on Ch 1) don't control the Device knobs on the selected track.
Maybe I did something wrong...
Again great thanks.
Have you thought about posting yr script on the Sensel forum?
Regards,

Just a question as you're talking about it. Can you recommend the Morph? As far as I can see, the specs are cool. But is it really that sensitive?
The music overlays on the joué just look way cooler and more useful for musicians thanthe ones on the Morph.
Would be really interestion to a have a comparison between the joué and the Morph although probably noone has both

Yep, that's the problem... I can't really compare both...u-u-u wrote:Would be really interestion to a have a comparison between the joué and the Morph although probably noone has both
As an owner and user of the Sensel Morph I can say I'm happy with it. It is more than a MIDI controller... It's thought as a multifunctional controller, it can be an Artpad, an ASCII keyboard, a Gamepad etc. With its open API a great range of applications can be expected, e.g. Tim Thompson, the creator of Keykit, wrote MorphOSC, which let's you use the Morph Trackpad as an Open Sound Control device.
The hardware side, the technical features like its sensitivity, the ease of overlay changing, etc. are impressive.
The software side is well-thought-out, elaborate and rich in features although it's in rather early development. The developers are very active, working on improvements and enhancement steadily and they are very open for suggestions and requests.
I'm not a good keyboard player so I can't say much about its playability but for me all the music related overlays work and have their potential.
The Joué which I haven't tried out myself yet seems to profit from its focus on MIDI, on being a versatile musical instrument. All in all very interesting...
