Hi. 25 years in the business - I have seen and used any DAW you can think of and I'm liking Waveform a LOT.
Thanks for all your hard work, it looks, feels, performs, sounds beautiful.

As I was saying on another thread on KVR, I am using it more and more instead of good 'ol Cubase, but sometimes I find myself wishing for a few extra options that would make me ditch my old DAWs for good.

1) Multitrack time warp
2) Cut where the pointer is, not the cursor. It is so much more accurate ad quick (Reaper docet)
3) A Marquee tool
3) Audio render of all the separate channels of a multi out VST. I use Addictive Drum 2. I like to have all the different channels separated (the rack workflow is pretty awesome). Only issue is that when I output the stems, the output channels produce empty stems. Also, If I solo one of the multi outs, the signal shouldn't stop (because the parent channel with the MIDI info doesn't play)
4) Articulation switches :D or at least the ability to select individual notes and assign them to a different MIDI channel
5) The possibility to select clips, time sig changes and markers at the same time and move them around grouped.

Well done to the developers, Waveform is an amazing piece of software and I'm showing it to all my colleagues!

Thanks for the feedback Jordan - always welcome

Some of your requests are high on our development plan, some are good ideas we will discuss

Being an indie developer, we can move quickly and freely - so please keep the ideas flowing - one of our strongest benefits is you can help shape the product :)

Wait, are you one of the devs?

Oh mate, I'd love to be there in person to shake your hand and tell you how much I am appreciating your hard work.
Please count me if I can make myself useful in any way.

TSC, dRowAudio, FigBug are all Tracktion people and gigazaga wrote the manual and makes videos to help us, on his days off from conquering the music world.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yeah, it's quite a concept when ideas get tossed around on a forum like this, and reasonable/useful features just appear in the next release !

(And your discussions/ideas might be replied to by the developers directly ! )

I have joined this conversation viewtopic.php?f=7&t=500596
I'm now discussing marquee vs lasso. Thought I'd update this thread as well for the attention of the devs.

There is a marquee tool: hold alt + left drag
That is a lasso tool. A marquee tool would snap to the grid and highlight only the portion of the clips under the selection instead of the whole object.
If the devs implemented something like "double click splits the marqueed area" one could do editing on the fly without having to stop playback to move the cursor to the split point

optical (negative) latency

I'm on T6 but perhaps behavior hasn't changed.

in a complex mix, the real-time display of the plugins is not at the same point in time where the audio is. I think it comes earlier.
(you have all those spectral displays, VU bars, compression or gate activity LEDs etc.)
audio buffer size and driver switching will change this effect intensely. this shouldn't ever happen. it's just not the purpose. display has to have its own latency math and correct that.

does VST have an interface spec at all, to sync the GUI display? can it be tricked into working right?
can we make the correction switchable it it eats too much RAM and CPU force?
thx for considering.
