I've compromised on just a physical modeling synth that can imitate the human voice perfectly without artifacts. That way there are no licensing issues. You're ultimately responsible for programming it to create the voice that you want. If you happen to stumble on a voice that sounds "similar" to another singer, there will be no grounds for any lawsuits or anything like that as long as you don't try to actually pass off the sound as a particular singer.

And lots of singers have similar voices anyway, like Sinatra and Connick.

as interesting as the challenge might be, without artefacts is going to be nigh on impossible id imagine.
there are so many variables involved in just a sentence, the amount of automation and fiddling "live" after you've managed to program the initial patch, its a level of complexity that would probably mean anyone capable of playing said instrument to a point where its indistinguishable from an actual singer, theyd be as in demand as an actual singer.

i can only report what happens after "fear itself" where we discovered the familial connection between the original nick fury and the up to date nick fury.
they didn't really go in to genetics beyond og nf's giz containing super soldier serum so nu nf was stronger, faster and pretty much indestructible.
