Here is another video and this time I"ll show you how to add some pitch and stereo variation to percussion loops. I used this is a song I've been working on so I thought I'd share it. I hope its useful.

A nice way to get something more going on in looping percussion. :-) Technical correction: a frequency shifter changes the frequency of the sound, changing pitch is another thing. Frequency is changed by adding or subtracting a fixed amout of frequency, changing pitch is done by multiplying the frquencies of the incoming sound. So frequencyshifting is less harmonic and can easily sound a bit metallic, this is something that can work well and even sound more or less natural with percussive sounds while other sounds can become a bit strange. I hope this made sense and can avoid some confusion for anyone unsure of they should use pitch shifting or frequency shifting. Sorry if anyone found I added to any confusion.

Also remember the randomize buttons in the stepsequencer, you could randomize the values and until you hit something you like and adjust the values to your liking.

Thanks for your videoes, I tend to get inspired and have ideas I need to try out imediately after watching one of them. So do keep them coming. ;-)

Thanks. I wanted to explain things better, but I couldn't think of a good quick way to do so. I`d like to make another video about them and explain it visually, which I think would make it clearer.

Don't worry I'll be making more.

Yes, I enjoyed the video but also wondered why not use the randomize options for the panning and pitching. Anyway, that just inspires me to try it myself.
