I did try to search for this, but I've failed it seems.
Why are all of the DAW Essentials Collections plugins preceded with a #?

Perhaps an attempt at making them appear first in a sorted list of plugins?
I think, that´s the right answer...
With alphabetic sorting without the hashtag you get i.e. TDR plugins inbetween the (without hashtag) TCrusher and TDelay Studio...
With the hashtag naming, the group stays together in a list...

Annoyingly though, it always ends at the top of the list in many DAWs... which is not very nice behaviourTrancit wrote:Naenyn wrote:I was wondering that, too.

Agreed. At least some DAWs let you organize them the way you want. Like Waveform.Robert Randolph wrote:Annoyingly though, it always ends at the top of the list in every DAW... which is not very nice behaviour

I hope not. We may end up with an arms race of developers adding weird unnecessary characters to their plugins to make them appear at the top of a list.Trancit wrote:I guess, this was the second intention...Robert Randolph wrote: Annoyingly though, it always ends at the top of the list in many DAWs... which is not very nice behaviour

No problem for at least VST2... you can rename the dlls to whatever you like...Robert Randolph wrote:I hope not. It was mostly so you had something unique to search for and return all the plugins. You can type "#t" and find all the Tracktion plugins as opposed to "equ" and return the hundreds of EQs installed.
Other suites do similar things such as MeldaProduction prefixing their names with "M". We just quite liked the look of the "#t" and it would be familiar to people through hash-tagging.
