Shortcuts Cheat Sheet

In an effort to learn the common commands of Waveform this weekend, I decided to make myself a cheat sheet. It is available at Cheatography here. If you find this sort of thing useful, feel free to take a look and grab the PDF. I'll happily update it with any feedback I receive, too. Let me know what you think!

Nice.
Did you know you can export the current mappings as HTML from the "Keyboard Shortcuts" settings page? Might also help?

You're welcome!sangiye0 wrote:Looks clean and helpful. Thank you.
I did indeed see that. Pretty slick! However, the main goal here, at least for my personal use, was the actual creation process.. learning them as I entered them into the sheet. Kinda like how, when you're studying in school, it is often found that you remember better by writing things down .. even if you never read what you wrote again.dRowAudio wrote:Did you know you can export the current mappings as HTML from the "Keyboard Shortcuts" settings page? I will look at that export and see if it'd be a handier reference when needed. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this.
Do you know if there's a way to scroll down to see more tracks? The mouse wheel moves horizontally instead of vertically. What's the command to just scroll down?

If you place the cursor over the track names and inputs (left hand side), or over the mixing panel (right hand side), the scrolling behavior switches to up and down. You can also go to "Options > Mouse Wheel Action" and click "Enable vertical scrolling over clip area," which will make it so the mouse wheel always scrolls vertically instead of horizontally.

@abrickwall That's a great first post, welcome to KVR! =] Thanks for sharing that tidbit. I'll see about updating my cheat sheet accordingly.

The default is the mouse wheel zooms in and out, horizontally, and holding Shift + the mouse wheel scrolls tracks vertically.
You can swap that behaviour in Options / Mouse Wheel Actions

Hmm, I went to verify and update my cheat sheet, but I can't seem to reproduce this behavior. In fact, I get no results at all when trying to scroll over either the track names/inputs or mixing panel. Maybe I'm missing an option? Or .. this is behavior from an older version?abrickwall wrote:If you place the cursor over the track names and inputs (left hand side), or over the mixing panel (right hand side), the scrolling behavior switches to up and down.

Thank you for the scrolling tidbits.
On T7:
Tracks that are not expanded (what's the word for not expanded or narrow view?)
- Scroll over a track: it zooms horizontally.
- Scroll over the track names or plugin area: it scrolls the track list vertically.
- Shift + scroll: scroll timeline horizontally.
- Control + scroll: zoom the track list.
- Control + scroll over the track names or plugin area: it zooms the track list.
Tracks that are expanded for edit:
- Scroll over a track (MIDI): scrolls the MIDI information within the track vertically.
- Shift+ Scroll over a track (MIDI): zoom the MIDI information within the track vertically.
- Control + Scroll over a track (MIDI): (same as shift) zoom the MIDI information within the track vertically.
Super handy stuff. (Test. I may have gotten a description wrong here).

You'd probably need at least 10 tracks or to have some or all of Tempo/Marker/Chord tracks visible.Naenyn wrote:Hmm, I went to verify and update my cheat sheet, but I can't seem to reproduce this behavior. [W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Yep, didn't have enough tracks. That was it!jabe wrote:You'd probably need at least 10 tracks or to have some or all of Tempo/Marker/Chord tracks visible.Naenyn wrote:Hmm, I went to verify and update my cheat sheet, but I can't seem to reproduce this behavior. I've updated the sheet a bit. Added some more mouse nav/zoom as well as midi editor shortcuts.
