Hello,

I is it possible to record the output in track 2 in tracktion? I want to bring on a podcast guest via Skype and record with tracktion.

My Mackie ProFX is set up so that the speakers goes to an input channel and microphone goes to an input channel.

Settings show
Output: Speakers (USB Audio CODEC)
Input: MixerMic (USB Audio CODEC)

I can select "Input 1" and it records my voice but it doesnt record my guest via skype or event music played from the computer.

Thank you,
Joseph

Possibly if you use your the computer's onboard sound output for Skype, and connect that output to the Mackie. Then use that input to get the Skype audio into Waveform. Watch out that this doesn't create a feedback loop.

I can't see a way to record Windows audio directly into Tracktion. I only see the inputs provided by my hardware.

Here's a workaround:

I can easily use Audacity to record Windows audio directly, such as browsers or media players.

Using Windows WASAPI as the host interface (I don't see this option in Tracktion), then by setting the recording device to 'Line 1/2 {audio device name} (loopback)'.

This gives me a similar recording method to the old school sound blaster cards that had 'what you hear' as a recording option.
Windows 10 and too many plugins
