It's amazing that with such a wide range of sounds he still manages to corral them into a coherent and beautiful piece of music. These videos are the best insight into music production and not just for film.

In part 2 Tom describes his orchestral approach, mixing sample-strings with real strings, the reverbs etc.

I watched "Tomb Raider" at the theatre today; it was entertaining. I wasn't that cognizant of the soundtrack, though I hear some cool sounds in the video. Thanks for sharing.
