Movie files *still* don't work in T7?

What's up with this?

I'm running Win8.1 Pro x64 and T7 x64 - can't get a single movie file to load - mp4, m4v, avi, mov - nothing.

It's been this way since I started out with T4. Is there some kind of prerequisite or Tracktion voodoo required?

Kinda hard to work on audio-mixing a movie with no movie :(

You will need a codec pack. Tracktion cannot ship them for licencing reasons.
K-lite basic seems to work for most of my vids.

Be careful where you get it from as many sites carry malware/adware.

The functionality is still not great.

Ugh. That's a terrible solution - I've always avoided K-Lite like the plague because it tends to screw with apps like Resolve, Vegas etc.

A better solution would be QuickTime support since every Pro-video application for Windows requires it.

Maybe you can try this :
MediaVst :

or Video VST by Metamorphosis

Thanks a lot for this link! The mediavst.dll works fine for Windows Media Files.

For those having trouble with Tracktion and video/movie files (syncing for film score using Tracktion Waveform, etc.), I tried all of the above, but they didn't work. I tried this one here (https://www.vidplayvst.com/downloads.htm) and it did great. It's $18 and comes with a free demo. Whew! I was having a LOT of trouble with this.

Why would they support quicktime which is pretty much discontinued.

nvm... missed the date on that :?
