Ace is actually €69. So for today, the comparison is $40 vs €69.

This would be $84 today.

VCV Rack is free, Tne new version effectively links to the DAW (audio and midi) and to my ears it is the best modular simulation.

The TAL Mod isn't trying to do the same thing at all though, though the cables might make people see this wrongly, it is imo comparable to something like Hybrid and just uses cables instead of the mod matrix.

I like the sound of this synth. Might buy it.

Maybe the display should be in the center, more or less where Noise is now. Or at least between the envelopes and the LFOs.
Else the eyes have to jump so far back and forth between Osc 1 controls and display.
I also dislike that in Saurus.

Sorry, your 286 is a bit old for modern audio plugins.
It's time to upgrade.

U-he has cupon / $40 is not TAL-MOD final price.

That's why I said "today" it costs $40 vs $84. Maybe some info on that U-he coupon would be helpful to someone too.

Anyhow, both are good choices and comparable in the market.

There is some empty space left in the envelope sections, maybe for a timing knob (from percussive to slow) and a velocity cable input.

And there is one space left in the mod source section, maybe for a constant source.

I payed €15 for ACE (there was a promo once) f.e. But it´s not in my Top 3.
I payed €69 for Repro (which include Repro 1 and 5 now) which is one of my favorite 3.
I payed under €5 for Model D which has the best filter section in software i ever heard yet, yes including all my plug-ins and all other Minimoog emulations on the market. Yeah, it´s an iOS app but since i already have an idevice it was a cheap polyphonic reissue Minimoog D.
P900 was actually more expensive but gives me much more options which sound much better (still my favorite synth in general).
Of course they all are different but when i read "analog" i now want something better sounding for some reason. Maybe i just like not the character.
I could go on that there are more plug-ins and apps which i find better when i hear the term "analog" in the description and offer also a great amount of possibilities and are very easy to use.
I will give it more time of course since i thought the Model D app was a joke until i played with it and was even angry that it sound better than my VST.
It might be a synth for low cpu machines but i want "more" since i´m covered (as many maybe too) with synths. It lacks that special to put it above over other.
Maybe i can find something which is unique enough and i will be wrong and then i buy it.
It often took me some days to really enjoy a synth. Most sounds you hear in demos or stock presets are too save to judge a synth for me. I want to go crazy with modulations without it sounding like brown noise.
So the first impression is O.K. but not worth to buy at this point.

This sounds really good to me, with a large number of usable and interesting presets. I also like that everything's on one page, although the virtual cables are kinda annoying (should have different shades or something to make them better distinguishable). For $40 it's worth it to me.
A well-behaved signature.
