I'm curious if the Mastermix VST/AU is supposed to come with any of the Waveform 9 versions.

If so, how do you download/install it...

If not, I have a bug to report.

It should show up under "Waveform plugins" in the plugin selector. It does on multiple machines of mine.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I'm asking about the VST/AU version that is usable in other hosts.

It shows up in Waveform fine.

Ah okay, I didn't get you meant that.

My guess is that "Master Mix (embedded)" is a hint the bundle doesn't come with a VST/AU version for use in other hosts.

That's what I thought too... I think I have a bug to report then.

Robert, please follow up here when you have an answer. I'm also interested to know if the mastering plugin can be used outside of W9.

I sent a support request in regarding this... We'll see what comes of it.

I'm pretty sure that Mastermix VST/AU is a separate purchase at this point, but I'm waiting for official confirmation.

Would be nice if the interface wasn't so microscopic

This. I find this plugin very good but could be 1.5x bigger, at least.

resizeable, please.

Seeing as the host itself was the first to be vector based right from the start it's inconsistent that the plugins tend to be bitmap based and non resizable - particularly since JUCE lends itself well to resizable interfaces but TSC plugins are behind in that respect.

As a collection they still feel too bolted on rather than integrated - eg presets should be integrated into the host browser too and use the same tagging system etc.

This isn't reflective of the situation at all. I can't think of a single bitmap used in any of our software.

Plugins where resizing is sensible (i.e. Milti-Sampler, #TDelay Studio etc.) are resizable. These have content that can fill available space.

The problem with Master Mix is that it is a very old plugin which was largely designed in a way not conducive to making the UI resizable. I have spent a bit of time this afternoon hacking this though and may have come up with something. We'll test it out and maybe release it in a beta soon...

OK I get that it is older but the others, if they are procedural and not bitmap based then surely it isn’t a question of ‘filling up space’ as all controls resize proportionally (just look at the newer Logic plugins)?

Yes, we can probably do this. It's just a case of having the time to really.
Most of the DAW Essential plugin UIs are pretty large though, is this really a problem? (Aside from the fact that there may be HiDPI monitor issues on Windows, which is a separate thing that we are trying to address).

I was just thinking more in terms of overall consistency and integration into the Traction/waveform ecosystem. Don’t forget Traction was freely resizable long before HD monitors and 5K were things, I was just surprised the same wasn’t true of the plugins from the start and assumed that must mean they were bitmap based since generally one of the main reasons for procedural interfaces is resizability without aliasing.
