Waveform 9 midi tempo

When practicing, I use the BPM/Tempo click as a metronome. To make a faster change to the tempo, I tried to assign a midi knob to BPM but couldn't find a way to do this. When you click midi learn, only certain areas of the DAW's controls are highlighted for assignments. BPM is not included in the area.
Any work arounds for this?
