Tracktion 7 recording problem - garbled recording

I experienced a problem while recording in Tracktion 7 today that I cannot resolve. The audio becomes garbled for 8 seconds, clears up for roughly 30 seconds, and then repeats the cycle of 8 seconds garbled, 30 seconds clear as long as a signal is being input. This happens whether I am recording or not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Both th 32 bit and 64 bit versions and I don't know what else to try. This only happens with T7. I checked other recording software on my computer and do not have a problem.
I have two audio clips I recorded. "Unidentified noise" is with my guitar and starts about 00:13. "Line recording, no guitar" is a ground loop from my amp to keep a constant signal. You can hear the cycle repeat several times.

Turn down your volume before playing the clips unless you are trying to wake up.
Thanks in adavance,
Stewart

Stopping by to give everyone an update. Today, I uninstalled Tracktion, deep cleaned the registry, deleted any files or folders I created, and removed all the VST's with reboots of the computer in between. This has stopped the problem.
Now I am getting pops and clicks during recording. I saw another posyer with that problem, so I am going to uo check that thread out.
I'll post back in a week or so if I have any updates.

Pops and clicks usually due to low buffer setting, and capabilities of computer.
In settings tab audio devices, try increasing the buffer size. I tend to use 512 samples.
But see what works best for you.
