Tracktion T7 & Akai MPK mini no sound?

Hi Guys,
I`m hoping someone will be able to assist me.
I have a Behriger U-PHORIA UM204HD using the supplied Tracktion 7 DAW, running on a PC Windows 10 Pro. To which is connected the Akai MPK mini MKII Midi controller. Tracktion recognizes the MPK mini2. In Midi settings it is set as default Midi input and output.
When I create a new midi track and arm record, the the input signal is shown on the track & the master output. I have inserted various VSTi`s into the Mixer path, before the Volume & panning control. The problem is, I hear nothing through my monitors? As far as I`m aware, initially you don`t need to map anything to the MPK. I have the Enable input monitoring switched on, but there`s still no sound. I`m a newbie, is there a button or setting in a hidden menue that needs to be enabled/disenabled? I`ve spent days checking out You tube videos on connecting midi interfaces (Akai MPK mini in particular) but still nothing to answer my question, so I`m hoping you`ll be able give specifics to sort this issue out.
Thanks for your time guys.

If you're seeing the levels bounce on the master out, then it's more likely you have something missing on the output. In settings, what do you have set as the default audio output; and do you have powered speakers or a mixer connected to that, with the volume at a moderate level?

Hi Peter,
I`ve got the Akai MPK mini2 set as audio output.(Tutorials for T5 & T7 say it`s best set this way?)
I`ve got powered monitors connected to UMC204HD audio interface.
The only other Midi output that`s listed is Microsoft G5 Wavetable Synth, which I`ve tried, but still no sound.

Hi Peter,
I`ve tried using keyboard controller & listening through the headphone output of The UMC204HD,
can hear the virtual instruments this way. If I then try to listen via the monitors, no sound?
Any suggestions for how to fix this, would be appreciated. Thanks

you can't have the akai mpk set as audio-output, it is only a midi-interface, no audio available with it.RIC2020 wrote:Hi Peter,

you have to use the uphoria interface and check out its functions on how to use the outputs (headphones, line out to monitors, ...).
what i can read out of your descriptions so far is, that tracktion is set up correctly and working.
check the uphoria manual and make yourself familiar with the way it works.

it seems the uphoria interface has 4 channels (1-2, 3-4, when used as stereo-outputs).RIC2020 wrote:Hi Peter,

in tracktion-settings-audio you can define which channels are the default outputs. try to change that and see if you can hear through your monitors then. when your monitors are connected through the (EDIT:) Main-outs of the uphoria, there is a Main-out-volume knob at the frontpanel.
