Recently I started to use Windows plugins on Linux. At last ! A world of wonders was opening up. I did get the Voxengo plugins, along with the delicious Synplant and Microtonics, both of which I appreciate. And then I started to try some of the 'big name' synths, as seen on KVR. Not sure if I should mention names. The ones that offer free demos and are not linked to iLok. In general the first effect was Whoa ! Amazing sounds, going through all the presets.

Then while I'm wondering if I should get the synth, I fire up Zebra, or Diva, or even Hive and play a few presets from soundsets. The amazement fades away. By contrast I realize, once again, how subtle and rich these synths can sound. And how much of a bold and powerful sound they can make when needed. Makes me appreciate even more the u-he synths and the fabulous soundsets created by gifted sound designers.

Cheers.

If you can get the old Cakewalk z3ta+ 1.5, the installer
includes an effects plugin version that has the effects preset portions of the sizeable collection of factory synth presets, and some of them are dazzling with U-he synths.
Beat Magazine and Computer Music Magazine featured 1.5
as the monthly come-on, so back issues departments
might be a possible source, or a WTB add in the marketplace where you buy off someone's Cakewalk account. Should be fine with LinVst or wine,
as are Rapture and Dimension Pro.
Cheers
