Is ACE going to get some love?

Just wondering if ACE is going to be updated at some point? It's such a cool platform. It's got that Roland system 100 vibe. Would love to see it get ever more realistic still. Any plans to revisit it and update it? It might benefit from new things learned during the Repro project.

How do you upgrade something that is already perfect ?
........ okay maybe 99,9% perfect.
Mr Urs - if you are reading this please consider changing behaviour of this knob:

Double clicking on this knob should put it in the middle position ( currently turns it to the left ).
Its easy to set the knob to maximum left or right value but can be tricky to set it perfectly to 50/50 position.
After all those years i still find this very annoying.........

I would love both ACE and Bazille to get some RePro treatment filterwise. To my ears, the audio-rate of the filter on both is not musically useful (again my ears).

Half the things I make in Bazille dont go through filter and sometimes I feel kind of ungrateful not using it. Now that you say that I will feel better about not using it.moscom_electronics wrote:I would love both ACE and Bazille to get some RePro treatment filterwise. We have just had a one year marathon of adding a new preset browser to Diva, Repro and Zebra, with gazillions of refactorings and improvements involved (e.g. unicode support for user names...). We'll get to ACE and Bazille after dealing with Hive. I can't promise any feature updates just yet. All new feature development is currently focussed on that big Zebra update.

I hope for new skin some time in the future, because that one that it is now is kind of depressing

I like the Ace skin and both the Bazille skins. Please don't ever change them.

Well, they sound good for regular (and not so regular) use, do not misunderstand me! It is just that hearing how RePro's filter responds to audio-rate mod made me realize that ACE and Bazille were somehow lacking in this territory.spunkmuffin wrote:

ACE perhaps since it's "older tech" (before Diva). Bazille is newer though, I've no problems with its audio-rate modulation personally - in fact it is better than Diva in that regard.

First sneak previews from Bazille are almost 9 years old thoughEvilDragon wrote:ACE perhaps since it's "older tech" (before Diva). Bazille is newer though, I've no problems with its audio-rate modulation personally - in fact it is better than Diva in that regard.
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Yes, but that doesn't mean some things didn't change in the meantime (because they did).

ACE gets love from me everyday!!!
I love it, I really dont know how it can be improved, maybe a Bazille Gear Porn style skin ?
I barely use the MidiMap because it is on that second tab and I forget about it, actually I only use it as a Melodic Sequencer with the Ramp as the source.

But then a strange fear gripped me
and I just couldn't ask....
