Plugin for drum loops

Hey all,
i'm looking for a good plugin for drumloops. Currently i record midi into tracktion from reaktor (as standalone) with virtual midi cable (iac), and then feed it into battery, but that's kinda tiresome cause there seems to be no way to sync the two(reaktor and tracktion). I must say that i'm not really a reason fan, so i'd like something else.
I was thinking of idrum (just downloaded the demo), but i think it'll be audio unit...
Any suggestions?
thanx already to you all,
p.

Any reason you don't use the sequencer in tracktion? Seems a bit long winded to get midi from reaktor.
Is it algorhythmic stuff? Anyway back to the question.
Good Drum VSTis -
DR008
RMIV
Microtonic
NADS (in development but sounding good for synth drums)
freeware:
Drumatic
Ersdrum
For drum-loop mangling, try:
Dicer
Phatmatik Pro (discontinued on PC i think)
AMG Solo/One
Not masses in the way of free drumloop samplers i don't think, but there may be some i don't know of.

I do logaritmic stuff sometimes, but the reason for the reaktor hybrid is that i wanted to use battery, and wanted to record midi into tracktion, cause i hate the tracktion midi editor.
That RMIV looks interseting, downloaded the demo. There were others that appealed to me, but since i'm on mac i can't check some of them...
Thanks a lot for the tips and see you around!

But i still didn't quite find what i'm looking for btw: some kind of sequencer plugin for making loops, it's not the sounds i'm after. I checked idrum, and it's definately the kind of thing i'm looking for, but tracktion can't host it, so i still have that same syncin problem...
In fact what i need is or some kind of fruity loops thing, but for mac, or just a midi loop sequencer.
cheers,

Have you tried stepchild - it's a VSTi step sequencer, specially built for Tracktion by ModuLR.
Find it here http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/675.html
may not be what you are looking for but you never know!....

Operative phrase here: For Mac. I know that Karbon has been working on a StepChild port for OS X, but I think it's still kinda flaky right now. I've been looking for a step sequencer for rythm parts too. iDrum is the best in town, but it's only AU (as you have pointed out). Other than that, the LinPlug RMIV looks pretty good too.

Damn that stepchild is exactly what i'm looking for, pity they don't have a mac version (yet? i don't expect there will be anywhere soon)...
ok, then i'll have to go for idrum, which i have tested yesterday. Nice thingie, but too bad it's au only...
well thanks again y'all,

I have to say I thought EXT had a step sequencer already...or is it not quite the same as TseQ?

Have you considered Reason? The ReDrum module is superb ... a 10-slot drum sampler with lots of bundled kits in a variety of styles, together with a brilliant step sequencer. It's available for Mac, and works well as a ReWire client within Tracktion.Panda wrote:But i still didn't quite find what i'm looking for btw: some kind of sequencer plugin for making loops, it's not the sounds i'm after. Reason may be a taste that some people on KVR haven't aquired, but if you've not given it a fair go, you owe it to yourself to. imo it's superb, and I use it for ALL my drum programming. Fwitw, propellorheads have also just released a massive ReFill of drum kits for ReDrum, so plenty of chance to expand...
I've tried the step sequencer in FL Studio, and it's easy to use. ReDrum works in much the same way, but with more high quality kits available, and it's more flexible all round. You can also sequence your drum part using the drum sequencer in Reason's own sequencer, with precise control of every MIDI parameter (e.g. 128 levels of hit response, etc).
