The keyword "lute" usually gets an high number of views too, in spite of the fact that it roughly sounds like a classical guitar. Perhaps because it looks more interesting:)skipscada wrote:
Top of the list if you search for "greensleeves" and "lute" in youtube. The key here is "Greensleeves". The rest of his vids typically get 1000 views. So the recipe to attract someone to a folk channel is to play "Greensleeves".
How do I get more views on youtube?

Which sort of ties in with the suggestion of making covers in a particular style. The man on the street knows Greensleeves by name, and can thus search for it. He does not know "Ye Olde Ballad of Percivore Strumalot", and thus cannot search for it.skipscada wrote: So the recipe to attract someone to a folk channel is to play "Greensleeves".

Let's call it "The Greensleeves Effect". Sounds like one of those motivational business books. Or a viral video in the making from the same people who brought you "From Lute to Loot - Capitalising on Your Niche" and "Burn Them at the Stake: Is MIDI Evil from a Medieval Perspective?"skipscada wrote:Let's call it "The Greensleeves Effect". These twats are just being flashy. They've got all those strings to try and make themselves look big and cool, then you watch the videos and they do f**k all with most of them. I play all the strings on my 12 string guitars, so I'm better.stratum wrote:The keyword "lute" usually gets an high number of views too, in spite of the fact that it roughly sounds like a classical guitar. So how do you get more... Reach your "wallet" and buy some views
Or instruct your viewers to duble click your videos, so you will get double views...
