Maschine MKIII, Komplete Kontrol MKII - Bitwig Studio support?

Hi folks,
what do you think? Will the new devices by NI will get proper Bitwig Studio support?
As the Komplete Kontrol webite says:
"Note: Advanced integration with Cubase and Nuendo will be available via a free update in late 2017."
I ask myself if they will announce Bitwig Studio integration sometime soon if ever.
Cheers!

I've been wondering this all day.
Bitwig partnered with NI to create the Maschine Jam script which allows you to switch between using it to control Bitwig and Maschine software.
A script like this for the MK3 would be amazing, and I suppose since some of the features from the Jam have been included in the Mk3 this could suggest some of the API would be already cooked up.
But who knows?
I only hope Bitwig's interest in the Jam was a sign of bigger things to come

Official script for Maschine MKIII or the new Komplete Kontrol would be sweet, especially if they could take advantage of the new screens. But who knows..I'm afraid NI has other daws before Bitwig on their todo list to support.

Forget it. Not going to happen.
Here's my view.
Bitwig has taken a unique approach to controllers: they have decided not to do a hardware controller themselves (at this point, they are a just a too young company to have the resources anyway) but instead provide an API that allows developers to make any controller to work with Bitwig Studio by writing a "controller script".
Great idea, and this works quite well for basic integration, where a MIDI keyboard with some extra knobs and stuff addresses some basic BWS features. The controller script is easy and just about any developer can write it.
If you want to have deep integration (think about: Push/Ableton Live or Maschine hardware/Maschine software) you need some more. To make this work, two things needs to happen.
1/ Bitwig needs to pay attention to the API they provide. At this point, that's not the case. If they add new features to BWS for instance, they should have the API updated also. At this point, that's not the case ( hello, Bitwig, why is there no RemoteControlsBank interface?!).
2/ And this is even more difficult: the hardware controller should have an open API as well. Take Maschine as an example. If you want Maschine/Bitwig to be on the same level as Pus/Ableton or MaschineHardware/MachineSoftware, a developer should have full access to the Maschine display, so he can show Bitwig information. That's not the case at this point. Me myself am trying to get access to the Maschine Mk2 display for quite some time but Native Instruments won't give me the necessary info (for Mk2 and Mk3). Ableton, on the other hand, have released an API to fully control Push.
Conclusion at this point:
If you want a hardware controller that can give you the best experience with BWS, go for Push (1/2). Maschine Jam works ok too with BWS, but is limited since it doesn't have a display. Maschine Mk2/3 will only work well if Native Instruments releases an API and some developer uses it to write script. That's two ifs...

Hey Scott. Tell me please, can we see any parameter/device names on Maschine LCD with Flexi Script? Thanks.

No, since MIDI does not provide a generic way to display parameters (BTW this is announced for the future version of MIDI).mrfrenkie wrote:Hey Scott. Tell me please, can we see any parameter/device names on Maschine LCD with Flexi Script? Thanks.
