I'm prob wasting my time saying this. But hey this is KVR and I'm a user.

There's some maths about sight & content, detail & the whole, that's missing from the Avenger GUI equation.

I'll wait a year for it, which is reasonable, as it's a big job.
1. I advised Avenger devs before, take all the needed visibility to the center of the console. (As they do with the full waveform browser) The small windows are ok for quick edits, but use an "open" button to open to the center of the console.
Drag and drop presets to categorys would be handy also.

1.2. zones window is also very small

2. Same problem goes with the preset browser, I only use the main presets window. the search function is missing out some things... Also handy functionality such as, click search O--- and start to type, (not clicking the small type window first)...

Create a large library browser in the center of Avenger, like other synths have, with columns... done...

3. compare or version function for the presets

4. select presets by CC

5. better (basic) sample editor

6. mod matrix => to the center also

7. Please please get rid of the ugly VMAN button ! ;-) (add it to the content/info/files tab)

I have more request this way, small but important timesavers IMO. Not for 1 time edit, but for working on a daily base with Avenger as workhorse.

Furthermore, I'm very happy with the synth, I like the approach how it's organised.
But I hope the devs will listen in time to those small anoying things, instead of adding more and more synth functions.
Usability is #1 for me.
Basic functions done right.
That explains the succes of Nord for example.

Manuel Request for the stepseq it would be great to click on one bar and select 2x or 4x like in the drum section and also to select the fade in and fade out. I use the stepseq for my hit hat gives it a more human feel and with this request it would be amazing.

So, did Vengeance get the Noble prize for this software yet?

Small newb tip for Avenger crowd.

1. Load 2 Avenger instances, with different sequence in each - doesn't matter what genre, in fact mixing various sequences is fun),
2. Use only drum track from one sequence/instance. Use the full arrangement from the other, including its drum track.
3. Tweak everything to your liking (if necessary).

This makes my hair rise. You instantly end up with professional sounding piece.

Can't log into VMAN and http://vps-avenger.com/ doesn't load...

HI,
I have the demo and really like what Vengeance can do. Under the Sequence category, is it possible to change a sequence from a minor to a major sequence. If yes, where in the manual does it say how?
Thanks Frank

Post

depends on the sequence. Most times its on one of the macro buttons. It then switches from min to maj

Thanks Will try

Same here. Odd that your comment got ignored.

Thanks for bringing this up (again), I'm completely with you on this. On my 22 inch display, even if I enlarge the UI to almost fullscreen, most text ist still awfully tiny. Readability is made even worse by the sub-optimal choice of font type / blurry rendering. And no, I don't think that upgrading to e.g. 24 inch (which I plan) will fundamentally improve the situation
I am sad to report that upgrading to a 24inch monitor won't make things any better. Not only is the text tiny, the font itself is funky and not too readable. GUI is this synth's biggest weakness imo, followed by the quality of filters.
It doesnt make much sense to me for ex, the filter knob takes up so much space, yet the text around it isn't easily readible.
A lot of potential however.

like mentioned 100 times before, I can not give technical support here. This is not a technical support forum. If you encounter technical problems, please contact our official support (Rene) and you will get helped.

Yes, I think so, since it has the same resolution!? You need a bigger resolution and therefore 27"+ to make things change. We recommend anything above full HD. Btw we chosen this font because its narrow. No other font would have fit in X axis.

I'm pretty sure that's not the only narrow font that results scalable (for example https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto+Condensed is not as terrible and https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Open+Sans+Condensed is also pretty good).
Anyway being forced to use narrow fonts is a consequence of the UI design choices that often involve weird space management. As someone else said the preset section is a prime example of elements that "waste" space.
U-he knows this and u-he plugins don't show you the presets list at all times because when you program your synth you don't need it and displaying a list of presets is neither functional nor helpful in that regard, if anything it takes up precious space that could be used in some other way and, as a consequence, doesn't force you to condense everything you have in smaller spaces.
This would be a non-issue if skinning the synth had the same degree of freedom that zebra/hive have.
Hell, you can even rearrange whole sections of the synth in different ways or make the synth look significantly different and, therefore, not having to deal with some issues you'd face with the original skin.

Anyway, there was already one skin that would have partially solved many of the "issues" in the ui, especially for readability.

The preset selection is just that much better because it no longer looks like a 2000 era flash game menu and can display a lot more presets/categories without having to scroll (with painfully low fps), text is a lot more readable than the one we currently have (which is also condensed too much when it doesn't need to, like "v-saw" and "voicing" to name a couple), doesn't have shaded bold text near knobs that make the ui look a lot worse especially when scaled.
I hope you still want to implement it because that would be great, and if we can use it as a starting point for making our own skins that would be even better.

On a related note, allowing more cusomization with skins like these I posted would help you in case you don't want to have to deal with the usual complains about the UI, which I'm sure will keep coming.
I'd like to say "please consider this" but I'm afraid this will end up being overlooked just like all my previous posts, as if they are some kind of offense to your own intellect. Which is kind of saddening because I really care about this synth and I believe an external point of view can help, while a dev might be too much into their own work that they lose sight of some of the most obvious aspects.

we had not one single complaint outside KVR. Thats one of the reasons we will not do anything at the moment to change our GUI, our Font or our skinning system. I am very sorry, but thank you for your suggestions anyways. :tu:

Maybe we will make a list here for people that have problem with the GUI.
For start write your name here and send rene email.

Where else can I find an actual discussion about the synth?

PS: does giving feedback on KVR automatically invalidate the points being made? Not sure why the "outside of KVR" (where there are 480 pages) somehow holds more value than what has been posted here.
If it's not the right place to discuss please tell me where to go. I'd love to give feedback on the appropriate platform where it's acknowledged.
