Had major issues with Waveform crashes when opening certain VST plug interfaces (Newfangled EQuivocate & NI Phasis), which I was managing by reverting to an older display driver. This stopped the crashing on opening the plugs, yet my laptop would occasionally go south with a black screen, requiring a forced power down and reboot of the system to bring it back from the dead.

After the installation of MS Feature Update 1803, all is working perfectly with the newer display driver! So far, so good, with no black screens or plug opening crashes.

I'd read about MS taking longer than expected to release this update, in that they were doing their best to mitigate the Black / Blue screen crashes that were quite prevalent in the field.

Grateful for them taking the time to sort this out and deliver a resolution!

Have not verified whether or not this much helps Waveform or other DAWS.

I have it enabled on my ancient Dell D630 laptop and it seems to be running well with Waveform 9.2.1.

The new Ultimate Performance Mode sounds really interesting.

I reposted this to the Computer Setup and System Configuration forum to see if the computer gurus have any thoughts on this.
