no errors are happening, just Zebra closes the program FLStudio
I can not add a video here, the format is not supported ... So I gave a link to the video

You've provided zero details, not even your system OS, FL version, Zebra version or anything. And noone can see the video unless they have an account at the IL site.

Bug reports require information.

I don't have access to IL forums. I can only suspect an installation issue, for which we have an answer in our FAQ

https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#compa ... ermissions

If that isn't solved there, our support staff will walk you through the process upon an email to support@u-he.com

I can access the video. He's getting a pop up message when trying to load a preset into Zebra 2:
"This preset was created with a much newer software version. It may not sound as intended. Please download the latest updates from U-He.com". He's also getting an error message when trying to load the FL Studio project "The Sonarworks 3 Plugin can not be found" so perhaps that contributed to to instability of the project.

I don't know if that's a clue or not but I thought it worth a mention.

"This preset was created with a much newer software version. It may not sound as intended. Please download the latest updates from U-He.com" means just that. There must be an older version of Zebra on the computer. Either install current version over it, or remove old version first.

Post

Obviously but my point was would that contribute to FL Studio shutting down ? Is there any reason trying to load a preset created in a newer version of Zebra would cause FL Studio to become unstable ? Just addressing the thread title "Zebra2 Update kill FLStudio".

No, it's most likely simply the mixup of old plugin and new installation files. If you installed the 2.8 update which contains the new preset browser, but still have the old plugin version in a different folder, then the host might crash (or open a plugin with a white GUI) when you attempt to load the old plugin.
Is easily fixed if you install everything correctly and don't leave any old versions of the plugin on your computer.

Maybe a silly question to ask, but when there's a need to update presets from the u-he web site following an updated synth install :

1) Are the sound characteristics of the presets totally preserved ?

2) Can this be also needed for 3rd party presets ?

Our presets are backwards compatible. That is, a newer version of a plug-in can always load any preset made with an older version. But we can not be sure for the other way round, hence the message (which can be clicked away).

I deleted the Zebra from the system, cleaned the registry, deleted all its folders and files. Download Zebra from the site U-He and installed it again ...
Now the Studio does not see the Zebra, and when scanning it produces a window:
I understand you need an old version of the Zebra? Where can I download it? The site is new

I had file permission issues a couple of times and I got a really useful support mail from U-he (see below).

what you're experiencing is an issue with file access permissions.

A plugin is visible to the system as a sub-hosted process, a "program inside a program" if
you will. When such a sub-hosted process tries to access certain system directories, such
as C:/Program Files/ and similar, or possibly different partitions/drives, then Windows
can be overly protective at times and prohibit the plugin from accessing the file system.

We store things like license files or graphic resources for the interface on your hard
drive. If the plugin cannot access or write to the necessary files because Windows is
blocking it, for whatever reason, then you experience things like the plugin opening with
a gray GUI, the plugin "forgetting" its license again and again, or "can't write to file"
error messages.

Unfortunately, this is a very irrational issue. On most machines it doesn't happen at all,
ever. On some machines it doesn't happen at first, and then suddenly starts happening all
the time. On some machines it happens right away after installing. On some machines it
will happen with one product but not with another product. On some machines it's enough to
run the host software as Administrator. On some machines it's necessary to move the
plugin's .data folder to another location.

Since the user's home folder is a path less protectively handled by Windows, we usually
recommend our users put the .data folders for u-he plugins here:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\u-he Data\ACE.data
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\u-he Data\Diva.data
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\u-he Data\Zebra2.data

The simplest solution is the following:

1.) Back up your presets, should you have created (or changed) any.

2.) Remove any trace of the installed plugin(s), this includes any .data folder(s) along
with any related .DLL files.

3.) Create this folder on your hard drive:
C:/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/u-he Data/
(Substitute YOUR_USERNAME with your Windows login username...)

4.) Install the plugin(s) again. When reinstalling, watch out for the installer page that
asks you where to put the .data folder. On that page, make sure you pick the "manual
folder selection" option (the lower one) and browse to the folder you created in step 3)
so the installer knows where that "manual folder" is. Then continue through the installer.

5.) If you have backed up any presets, now is the time to copy them back.

6.) Launch your host software and load the plugin(s). The problem should now be solved.

7.) If it still happens, you may need to make your host re-scan its plugins. If you don't
know how to do that, check this link for instructions:
http://www.u-he.com/cms/faqs#my-u-he-pl ... o-i-do-now

When re-installing the plugins, I'd recommend to download the latest versions from the
product pages on our website. I see from the log that your Zebra2 version is fairly
outdated, it mentions revision 2126 but the current version (that will be superceded again
in a couple of weeks, hopefully) is 3898, so quite a bit has happened.
