You mean the one you got for free? Come the f**k on...
I don't have Reason and don't get too excited... I'm just asking if their policy also applies to VSTs

Ok, but you wouldn't really compare a raw waveform in a synth comparison, would you? I mean, if you took a raw saw, square, sine, or triangle waveform, and compare it in bog standard VA synth, they would sound the same as well. Compare unison. Compare the filters, compare the envelopes. And compare the drive. Then you will see vast differences.

It would really be surprising when they already differed vastly on oscillator level. That would be the minimal requirement i'd have on a wavetable synth, that it doesn't already Colour the wavetables much. I still think synths have their own sound engine though. After all, some have more beef than others, so, there's got to be some messing with frequencies going on, which means that they DO Colour the sound, even of the raw oscillators.

I don't know for sure, but, i would say, yes. You need a Propellerhead account to buy in the shop, so the VST will shop in your account as well.

Again, though, i really wished people wouldn't be so OCD about their purchases (no offense meant). Do you buy something to use it, or to sell it?

I'm on a Mac and for daily security reasons I only work with a standard user account (no admin rights). But admin rights are mandatory for finishing the registration process.

So follow these steps (on Mac):

1. Open prefs pane and upgrade your user to administrator
2. Restart Mac
3. Open Reason & Europa, finish the registration successfully
4. Revert the changes made in 1.

Done!

Maybe for Win users it's a similar issue?
Any suggestions for no Reason version?
I'm on Ableton 10, High Sierra am the Admin just double checked but when I copy and paste the code and press ok, there's nothing! I have to cancel out of it.
Also attempted Cubase 9.5 but that blacklisted the plugin... Hard crashes everytime I try and rescan it..
Stay calm... stay calm... :help:

Ok thx for the answer. I just like to able to resell/swap stuff if I don't like it anymore which happens sometimes

It's a valid point. Biggest problem with REs was getting sucked into an endless money hole. Would be good to know PH's stance given transfers are not an issue with most VSTs.

Damn, I really wanted this synth, but its square GUI is not good. If I zoom it on my HD screen, it doesn't fit the upper and lower frames on Studio One 3 (unless I hide the taskbar in Win10)

On the other hand, this restriction saves me from GAS, as I'm waiting for Zebra 3 and Diversion 2.

And apparently GUI is clearly subjective these days! :D
THE INTRANCER wrote:Really... you're probably best comparing this with UHE's free Zebralette synthesizer, before you consider dropping money on this. Not only does that free synth have a better and clearer GUI, but is much more powerful, is imop better sounding, and you can also re-skin it .

Just, NO. Zebralette looks horrible by comparison, IMHO, and it's sound is really not that impressive. IMHO. ;)

Actually, the Eula for this prohibits transfers... Except where that policy is directly
prohibited by law.

GUI wise, I find the red on black just very very eye straining, and even though it scales larger, the modulation section knobs are still too small and this is still at the point where it's over scaling the interface of the DAW.

Sound wise, it sounds like Reason's interpolated low quality sound.

Really... you're probably best comparing this with UHE's free Zebralette synthesizer, before you consider dropping money on this. Not only does that free synth have a better and clearer GUI, but is much more powerful, is imop better sounding, and you can also re-skin it .

lol at *this* guy critiquing GUIs. I mean, c'mon dude.

And comparing this to Zebralette?

Q. If I upgrade from Reaon 9 to Reason 10, would the VST version of Europa be available in my Propellerhead account, so I could use it with other DAWs ?

Post

The web based version is an amazing demo of technology - minimal latency and works with my midi keyboard with no setup.
