Hi everyone. I have Diva and Repro. Am I able to purchase the synth bundle for a discounted price?

Post

Same question here. Not being able to log in to the new U-he website we can't see if there's any discount on the bundle when we already own some of the synths/FX.

Don't think you can do that. Or if you could, you would have to go through u-he support first.

This would be great. I regret not buying the latest instruments during the intro period, because I was not in a position to do so. And frankly, it would be in U-he's interest to allow merging licenses. The alternative would be for people to go reselling their existing licenses to buy the pack, which is essentially a lost sale for the company.
You are not a beautiful snowflake.

I would be surprised if U-he didn't allow upgrades to the bundles. Usually they do things in a way that existing users don't feel cheated when a new version is released (repro 5 free update for repro 1 owners, same for zebra 3 I think..)

So, in a same way, I guess existing owners should at least benefit from the same bundle discount as new users.

Actually, my bet is that GDPR made the account management more complicated and so, as EvilDragon stated, one should contact U-he support in order to see what discount he has. But this wouldn't be a viable solution on the long run. We need to be able to make compulsive purchases :)

Hmmm, this sounds like people expect us to give them some money back if they already have all plug-ins :-?

See, this is why I never wanted bundles. But people kept asking for them, and now that they're there, people somehow expect some kind of credit scheme where past sales add up to future benefits. Unfortunately this is not what we had in mind. Which is why the actual discount on these bundles was chosen "hopefully low enough so that existing customers won't complain".

The bundles are really just "hey, if you buy everything, we'll give you a little discount". It's an incentive to new customers. It's not a savings plan, where, after some time, you get the last remaining bit for free.

It may be worth noting that the bundles as such are not products on their own, like NI's Komplete. So there won't be a "u-he everything bundle 2.0" when we release a new plug-in. That is, the bundles are strictly a shopping cart goodie. The purchase accounts for the individual plug-ins included in the bundle.

Once a new plug-in is released, it'll simply be integrated into the bundles and the bundle price will go up. But instead of offering a discounted upgrade to just the bundle owners, we would like to stick to introductory offers through the beta phase - which is still the better deal.

Thanks for the explanation Urs.

The idea was obv not to get money back if we have all the plug ins. It was just to have all the plugins :)

This said, as soon as bundles exist, if one already has all your synths minus one (not my case yet) it's obvious that he will ask, maybe not "the last remaining bit for free", but yet some kind of a discount on it. This wouldn't be unfair. This bundle story can be hard to understand, as we are used to being able to upgrade to a bundle when we have a product which is part of it with almost every vst company.

Btw, this is not a claim, just a discussion. No big deal. Actually I'm fine with introductory offers, and more than fine with the whole U-he policy.

In case of which a thoughtfully written email to support@ might indeed be helpful. The guys have a bit of leeway as to how to react to those letters, I remember sometimes people hit the spot.

Thanks Evil for the clear and simple answer. That's all I wanted to know
