Ok I have been away from OSC for several months but this time I'm definitely back, such an inspiring synth and one I wasn't familiar with before
Threw this intro-ish test together in a few minutes of playing, probably trying an ambient-ish approach this time.

I'd really like to know how use the code snippet to fix the mac version of Synth1? Any tips?

I'm using the latest version of Logic with the 64 bit version and the filters are behaving. Last time, they were broken.jasinski wrote:I'd really like to know how use the code snippet to fix the mac version of Synth1? Any tips?

ontrackp and jasinski,
here is my stripped down .vst: Do the following for installation:
- Remove your current synth1.vst from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST, restart your DAW and do a plugin scan, so there is no Synth1 anymore in the list!
- Quit your DAW, install the above version, staart DAW and do a scan.
- Renoise users have to do a scan on every start again, since the DAW forgets that specific config. Could be similar with other DAWS, too.

Cool to see Synth1 made it's way around again. Might go for the "extra credit" this round
Makin' some sounds this evening.
Only an EQ, Comp and Limiter on the master and a little verb on the snare. Everything else straight from the synth. Pretty powerful FX section this thing has, so should be an interesting month.

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

Ah much obliged to you Hanz!
It looks like Live 10 is 64 bit only. I can't see your 32bit version even after following your restart/rescan instructions. Looks like I'm limited to the 24db filter.
Thanks for putting forth the work though!

Synth 1 is awesome - everything's so smooth. And working with a synth I know well, I realize how much I've developed my programming skills since entering OSC for the first time in January. Having fun!

Yeah, seriously. I'm guilty of having forgotten how awesome Synth1 is. It was the monthly synth for my second OSC and I wish I had access to all the presets I made around then, but they are on my other machine so back to Square1schiing wrote:Synth 1 is awesome - everything's so smooth. In Live, you will need to use some sort of plugin wrapper. There are several out there, but the ones I know are all commercial. Metaplugin by DDMF works well, and is only $49. https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst- ... x-wrapper/jasinski wrote:Ah much obliged to you Hanz!

I don't believe it would violate the rules to use a commercial wrapper if all you are doing is using it to get a 32-bit plugin to work in a 64-bit DAW.

A friend of mine under the name of Madame Eljay has asked me to upload her soundbank to the synth 1 patches page, here's the link, she hopes you find the sounds useful.
