Can't load Biotek presets (Linux)

I'm using Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon, Tracktion 7.

Downloaded and installed the Biotek demo and opened it in a new project.

However, I can only get the default preset to load and play. I installed the samples and instruments as per the instructions, but still can't load presets.

Help please!

Cheers

Bump!

Are the other presets found? I.e. do they appear in the list on the left had side?
Or do you only see the default one?

Presets not found, do not appear in the list on the left hand side.
Or do you only see the default one?
That's correct, I only see the default one, and it does work-sound and manipulation.

Where exactly have you put the Samples and Instruments folders? Can you post a screenshot of your directory structure?
Do you have read permissions set for those folders?

Everything was done as per the Biotek Readme that came with the plugin for installing on Linux. (Am using Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon):

******************************************************************************************
Please follow these instructions to install the BioTek plugin

1. Copy the BioTek.so file into your VST plugins directory. Common locations are shown below
2. Ensure your host is set to scan the location
3. Perform a plugin scan in your host

Authorising BioTek:
Once scanned and installed plugins will be running in demo mode.
To authorise and remove demo restrictions find the "Unlock" button on the plugin UI.
Follow the instructions listed here to create a key file which can be used to unlock.

Common Linux VST directories:
/usr/lib/vst
/usr/local/lib/vst
~/.vst

Please follow these instructions to install the BioTek content

1. Create a BioTek directory at "~/Tracktion/BioTek/" (may already exist)
2. Copy the "Instruments" content to "~/Tracktion/BioTek/Instruments"
3. Copy the "Samples" content to "~/Tracktion/BioTek/Samples"
4. Restart your host and any open instances of BioTek

You should end up with two folders:
"~/Tracktion/BioTek/Instruments" containing ".biotekinstrument" files
"~/Tracktion/BioTek/Samples" containing ".acktionsamples" files

*******************************************************************************************
I tried all three locations for vst directories above. I have read permissions.

Anyone else (especially from Traktion ) have any ideas?

Thanks.

I did a clean install of Linux Mint the other day, installed BioTek from our downloads page and everything worked correctly.
The only thing I can think of is that your files aren't in the correct location or your permissions aren't set up correctly.

Are you sure you've copied all the sample and instrument files into the directories?

Triple sure that I copied as per your email that you sent me the other day. Also installed T7.1 itself to the default install directory.

As I told you, I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon, which is based on Ubuntu. Could I perhaps get better results if I installed either Mint LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition, based on Debian) Or Debian itself?

I just had exactly the same problem on Ubuntu 16.04. What resolved the problem for me in the end was being sure to set the three preset locations from the global menu (cog at the top right):

1) Preset instruments: ~/Tracktion/BioTek/Instruments
2) Preset sounds: ~/Tracktion/BioTek/Samples
3) Preset samples: ~/Tracktion/BioTek/Samples

I'm not sure what the correct distinction is between preset sounds and samples, but the above configuration worked for me. Without the Samples folder set the presets wouldn't load for me.

Not sure if this might help someone else or not - but I thought I would share it here just in case.
