Being a longtime fan of the Free Bundle (that's how I came to be aware of Meldaproduction's fine, fine products) I'd like to register it someday.
Does it ever get into the Eternal Madness Discount rotation? I've seen a couple other products go through there twice but no Free Bundle.
I thought someone on this forum mentioned that the Free Bundle went Mad every so often, but maybe it doesn't any more?

Nope. The only sale I saw it in was @ Black Friday or something like that (at the end of the year anyways).

It is free and totally usable, but the upgrade is nice. I picked mine up a couple of years ago around Xmas time. I think they go on sale then too. Obviously, Black Friday is sooner...

It's still misleading.mibby wrote:It is free and totally usable, but the upgrade is nice. I picked mine up a couple of years ago around Xmas time. I think they go on sale then too. Obviously, Black Friday is sooner...

Perhaps unusual or even unclear, but "misleading" implies there is some sort of intentional misdirection, and it is nothing of the sort. The FREE bundle is fully functioning and the upgrade is nice to have, but it is certainly not necessary for the FREE bundle to operate.

- You can change size and style of the plugins.
- You can access the sonogram feature in the analyzers and equalizers.
- You can manipulate (save, load, organise) your own presets.
- Most plugins can perform upsampling which minimizes aliasing, therefore it is useful to improve sound quality.
- The plugins will not display the big red reminder box with our clickable logo at the bottom of every GUI.
- You will make us happy and help us develop more free software
.

(*I'm not affiliated with Melda. I'm just a hobbyist.) So, anyway....
Wow. I mean, wow. There's a very generous and very versatile FREE bundle with a slew of great plugins.
And somehow, some way - somebody says that it's "misleading".
How about this: If you're not 100% satisfied, you can have your money back! And, still keep the plugins too!

...and maybe the web is not going to be satifying either...

The reason I ask about the EMD is because money is tight and I am not in a hurry.
I like to give Meldaproduction money for their work, but does it matter whether I spend it on the Free Bundle or some other plug-in? Or even buy the license from another user so they can buy a Melda plug-in that they want more and Meldaproduction gets a transfer fee from them? And I am left with more budget to buy a different plug-in.
I'm an amateur and can patiently wait until the plug-ins I want come around in the Eternal Madness Discount sale. It's fun and it keeps me going back to the site every week. Like everything Vojtech does, including the Free Bundle itself, a very smart idea.
As for the Free Bundle being "misleading," what wrong idea or impression does it give? It's free to download and use, and for an upgrade fee of about 1.5 euros per plug-in the user can get some (minor IMO, if your DAW can handle the upsampling on its own) extra features if they want them. Some of the language on the website confused me at first, but it didn't interfere with my use of the plug-ins.
No, it's not "free software" in the sense of the GNU License or whatever, but if someone wants to pick that bone, go elsewhere. It's "free" like a sample issue of a magazine that doesn't come with the DVD-ROM full of samples and access to the online issue, you have to buy it at the newsstand to get all that.

Do you need the upsampling? Do you care about creating your own presets? Do you have screen estate issues and need plugin resizing?Starship Krupa wrote:I like to give Meldaproduction money for their work, but does it matter whether I spend it on the Free Bundle or some other plug-in?
If so, buy the bundle. Otherwise buy another Melda plugin that helps you creating the music you like.

Everything in the Melda line seems designed to facilitate maximum revenue, even
the free stuff. Although logically, it's difficult to fault them for that. Definitely,
the (paid) free bundle is one of the best deals available. Not the best imo, but
certainly up there. I for one, can certainly recommend it.

Well, bundles are on action from time to time, but usually not more than 1x-2x a year. Definitely a black friday, we also though about another action on my birthday
, which is next month
, who knows
