From my WIP CD "Raising Kane" Somebody said this could have been a hit back in the 80s. Now if only I had a time machine.

The Best Thing

Good times
That's what you are to me
Never had anything like you before
My crimes
You've come to set me free
Darling dear I could never want for more
And so I just gotta say today

You are the best thing
You are the best thing
You are the best thing
That ever happened to me
In my life

Your kiss
It lifts me up so high
Never had any kiss like yours before
Such bliss
You see it in my eye
Darling dear I could never want for more
And so I just gotta say today

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental Break

And so I just gotta say today

Repeat Chorus

Another one from my WIP CD "Raising Kane"

The Dogs Of Funk

This is war
This is what it comes to
This is war
Better than life

This is war
Better bring your guns too
This is war
And bring your knife

And bring your junk
Packed in your trunk
Don't be a punk
The Dogs of funk

This is war
Make it what you want to
This is war
Better or worse

This is war
Be here when you're gone too
This is war
End of this verse

So bring your junk
Packed in your trunk
Don't be a punk
The Dogs of funk

Instrumental Break

Repeat 2nd Chorus

This is war
It won't be the last one
This is war
Like it or not

This is war
We survived the past one
This is war
Take what you got

Repeat Chorus

Another one from my WIP CD "Raising Kane"

This one gets real crazy by running Vocaloid through TAL's Vocoder.

That Does Not Compute

What's that you say to me
What do you mean
The words that flow from you
Sound so obscene

That does not compute (format the C drive)
That does not compute (we're at deaf con five)
That does not compute (restate transmission)
That does not compute (total submission)

Can't comprehend your thoughts
Jumbled and strange
Have you been taken by
One so deranged

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental Break

Repeat Chorus

Nice composition with strong rhythm progression
I liked the orchestration, arrangement and sounds.

I listened to This Does Not Compute.

An attractive tune and clever lyrics with a good hook. Good production.

Closing track from my CD "Raising Kane"

On this one I set out to emulate the sound of Marvin Gaye. I've gotten very mixed reviews on it so far ranging from "greatness" to "It left me cold" so take your pick. I like it. That's all I care about. You know what they say about trying to please others.

Anyway, give a listen and let me know what you think. Or not.

Time Is Time

Life is short so they say
Sometimes life it gets in the way
And it seems there's no point
But are souls to God we anoint

So we kneel and pray
For all we have's this day

Time is time (Yes it's time)
Time is time (So little time)
Time is time (My time)
Time is time (So little time)

Looking back we reflect
How we gave so little respect
Then we find it's too late
We just can't escape from our fate

Repeat Pre Chorus and Chorus

Another one from my CD "Botany Bay"

This one is mostly instrumental so you Vocaloid haters might be able to stand listening to this.

An instrumental I did for this month's contest. No Vocaloid on this one.

"Time Is Time" is catchy melody
I can't understand most of the lyrics, so I thank you for providing them.
This is what I like about hearing vocaloid productions. The voice is just a lead instrument to me, for my feelings. Despite my addiction to spotting fallacies in political rhetoric when dealing with authoritarians IRL, I mostly just like to feel good, and this song helps me feel just dandy right now.

Seems like a long time ago I took a look at producing with Vocaloid. I wanted to sound like a sexy diva (I love to sing Kelly Clarkson songs. Oh yes. I want to flip gender on a whim. I truly do.) But it was more work than I could manage. I commend you for struggling through it.

Thanks. It took a while but I'm very comfortable working with Vocaloid now.

Another one from my CD "Divas"

The Joke Is On You

Go and laugh baby
You're the one who's crazy
If you think you're ever gonna beat me
May have won the battle
But I'm not one who rattles
Nothing that you do will soon defeat me
Cause the punch lines coming soon
And the joke is on you
The joke is on you

You are such a child
Running yourself wild
Trying to get me to knuckle under
Nothing you do matters
You and all your chatter
Wait until you feel my roaring thunder
Cause the punch lines coming soon
And the joke is on you
The joke is on you

Instrumental Break

The joke is on you
The joke is on you
The joke is on you
The joke is on you

I really like the drum programming on that, Wagtunes. Lots of nice funky syncopation. I think I would have liked to hear a bassline to gel the track together and give some interplay with the drums but not a major criticism.
