Hi,
just a quick inquiry into the status of the Zebra 1.5 manual? There is still good stuff I imagine I'm missing (much as I explore the beast)... a complete manual would be nice...
any update on timing for that?
thanks,
tribalogical

Hiya Trib,
well, I have the impression that *everything* has been fed into More Feedback Machine lately...
...some stuff went complicated, if not to say troublesome... see the thread about Zebra PC...
I've only recently bought Adobe Indesign and Acrobat in order to improve the quality of manuals (i.e. page numbers...), but I'm not yet familiar with them (gonna have a crash course soon, a friend of mine is a crack on both).
I've also decided to make manuals as modular as my engine, so that it takes some extra planning (hence I could more or less automate large parts of the process of writing manuals
).
Hmmm, another thing is, I'm currently deep into some stuff that will make using Zebra (probably V2.0 then) more comfortable. It will also provide a PC version and other goodies, so it would be great if you could lend me some more patience.
I also think that the only important thing undocumented are the MultiStages (which will see a redesign soon anyway...), which I find pretty straight forward in usage... about everything else is covered by the original 1.0 manual and the 3 addendums...
Please take my apologies, I had to set some priorities that I'm also not very happy with, but I think that the outcome will justify the delay...
Cheers,
Urs

Urs,
Thanks for the update. I don't mind waiting, but it is nice to know how things are going from time to time.
It sounds like the 2.0 stuff will be really great!
Can you say if it will include any of the granular stuff we've discussed in the past? Do you have a ball park idea when it will be done (of course always subject to surprises as with the PC version). Just something general like by the end of the year or first half of next year is all I'm wondering...

Urs, if you want a hand with any manuals I'd be hth, I make my living from magazine/newspaper design in Quark/Photoshop/Illustrator/Acrobat. Drop me a line at in@gfxdesign.eclipse.co.ukUrs wrote:Hiya Trib,
