Mysterious accounts popping up...

From time to time during a controversity in a thread suddenly posters chime in who are often pretty long registered to KVR but had posted up to that point nothing or very, very little.

For example in the ZYNAPTIQ INTENSITY thread a guy jumped in who is registered since 2005 and made his very first post in 2018.

But there are other examples as well, especially in threads about developers whose images / acceptance cause extremely polarised opinions.

Are these out of the blue posters socket puppets? Could I buy or create these sleeping accounts? Something I’m missing? I simply do not understand this pattern of behaviour...
