I have a 128 pad midi controller.

Can I assign a sample to each pad? Or just 16?

Post

I think it is limited by the number of drums available, but I know it is more than 16. On the 1st drum set I pulled up there are 24 drums. I'd guess there are around 50 or so slots available, but I haven't really checked to see for sure. I don't think you can do 128 though. You should be able to assign a sample to each pad(The 50 pads or whatever the number is).

Actually the number of drums is not limited, so you can do as many as you want. I wouldn't like to configure it all though :D.

So I assign them via midi notes? Can I use my custom sample with each pad? Will the image and multi velocity layers still be an option?

Well, I've found one with 48 but as there is no scroll bar they can be difficult to see. It look like the max depends on your screen height.

My understanding is that the number of drums is unlimited and therefore the number of pads is unlimited, but after 56 drums (14 rows of 4) the pads start to get pretty squashed up..the icons (images) and drumtype names start to disappear...but you can still drag multisamples on to whatever part of the pad is visible (the meter E.G.).
But with so many drums probably best to do everything in the DRUMSET EDITOR tab where you can always clearly see the drumtype. Highlight a drumtype in the DRUM LIST then drag multisamples into the DRUM LIST panel (you don't have to drop onto the highlighted drum, just anywhere in the panel)...or drag the multisamples into the VELOCITY LAYERS panel...or use the VELOCITY LAYERS menu. Assign MIDI notes in the ADVANCED DRUM PARAMETERS panel (bottom left under the drum list).

What you want to do is pretty unusual I guess, but as an exercise you could say do this:
Start with a blank slate...load the drumset Root> empty.
Now in the DRUMLIST start adding drumtypes..you could even load 128 instances of Bassdrum 1 but renaming them as you go (the new names will appear in the drum list and on the drumpads)
Re-assign MIDI notes for all of them just going up the keyboard.
Load a sample (or multisamples) for each drumNAME.

Hi Darkstar, if you keep adding drums you will get the overall plugin scroll bar way over on the right, but yeah, with this many drums the pad thing gets a bit silly.

So you do, but that doesn't help as the [Load] etc buttons go off-screen. Hah, and the GUI size is now stuck at "taller than my screen" so I cannot get to the Resize button at all!

I think I had the same problem...I think closing the FX window then opening it fixed it?
