I think using a folder track and then converting it to a submix track afterwards could be the easiest solution.
Linux version?

Hence if you had a MIDI sub-track with a synth on the submix, rendering that track would yield a silent render.
I'll see if I can add that without too much hassle. It could be complex though as all the routing with submixes is handled automatically...

Are you sure you don't just want a folder track? I think you can render contents of folder tracks without a problem (as the folder VCA just works as a volume scale) but I could be wrong on that.
Just as an idea: FL Studio 20 has got a "quick render" dialog, which let´s you choose wether you want to include Insert FX and Master FX or not...
It doesn´t help with volume/pan changes on the bus though (although in Tracktion these are plugins as well)... but is perfect for "muting" special bus processing while render for being able to route the rendered audio the same way like it was before
