We are happy to announce the launch of our new synthesizer series called RetroMod. Please check it out here https://www.tracktion.com/products/retromod
Give it a try and let us know if you have any troubles downloading or installing.
Oh and our July 4th 40% sale pricing will apply to RetroMod as well, so be sure to purchase now through July 9th.
The RetroMod series pack a massive sample library, so downloads are on the large side. We will have a smaller sample download in the next couple weeks for those customers that want to demo the series and save on bandwidth.
Enjoy!

Definitely intrigued.
I imagine lots of folks are putting together their wish lists for the next few RetroMods they'd love to see released as well!
I know I've got mine.

I see RetroMod 106 has an Alpha Juno 2 emulation. Which brings me to the most important possible question: how well does it hoover?
Linux version?

Digital hoovering is spot-on, but analogue hoovering could be better.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Isn't it sampled? Therefore no emulation. For hoover sounds I would suggest AudioRealism ReDominator instead.spoontechnique wrote:I see RetroMod 106 has an Alpha Juno 2 emulation. Which brings me to the most important possible question: how well does it hoover?

I just got it, and did not find the Hoover sound. I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but the presets are not, to be honest, helpfully named. They're organized by type (pad, lead, percussion, etc.), but the presets are just the type and a number (Synth 13, for example).
That aside, I got the [Roland] 106 and the Fat [Moog collection], and the sound quality and variety is very good. Definitely worth the discounted prices. I was never a Clavia fan, so I held off on those. Tons of presets to wade through. This will keep me busy for a while... the Alpha Juno 2 alone is a trip down a distant memory lane for me... but don't ask me where the Hoover is. I haven't found it yet.

When presets and instruments are installed in a different place than default, 106 can find them only once. When plugin is inserted again one has to set the paths again (Windows 10). Lead and Fat work ok.
Personally, I would put the browser in the main window (tab) - I do not like switching between the tabs to check presets and then their modifiers.

If you set the paths in an instance (with only one instance open) and then close that instance. Do the new instances keep the paths? When presets and instruments are installed in a different place than default, 106 can find them only once. Closing the instance should force the settings to be saved.
Yep, we'll be adding some ways to change presets from the main controls screen in the next update.Personally, I would put the browser in the main window (tab) - I do not like switching between the tabs to check presets and then their modifiers.

No, the new instances did not keep the paths except the first instance. The steps were as follows:
- set correct paths
- close 106
- open a new instance (now paths are visible!)
- close that instance
- open a new instance (now no paths again!)
But: After many trials after I set the paths I closed Waveform without trying a new instance and then reloaded this project again. After that everything is working ok and paths are kept. Fat and Lead have been working ok since the beginning. I'll report if it appears again.

Ok, thanks. It might be that the settings are flushed only when the dll is unloaded (which is likely to happen only when the hosting app closes).
It should flush automatically when the settings change though, regardless of closing plugins/apps. I'll check with Wolfram.
Thanks!

Yes, now I see it's dependent on if Waveform is closed or not. I've just tried to change the paths to incorrect ones. Until Waveform is restarted, the presets and samples are available although the paths are (intentionally) wrong. I have to restart Waveform and then there are no samples and presets.
On the other hand, if I set the correct paths again they are saved as expected without restarting the host.
Edit: I've checked it also in Reaper and here everything works ok - I need only to create a new instance of the plugin to get the path saved (correct as well as incorrect).
