What is coming from Melda? MYYY?

Those are:

Does subscription start at the base for the upgrade price shown at your user account? Or is it always full price (1799)

How big is the possibility that the complete bundle price rises during subscription and is there a maximum. I think it will go up some amount when things like MYYY will come.

If you have a monthly bill of 49euros, can you push some money in it to finish earlier?

Do additional buying of plugins reduce the bundle price during subscription period?

What if Melda shuts down that subscription to own model in the middle. Do you have a warranty that you benefit from all till the end?

Do you really get ALL in the future released new plugins after finishing payment for ALL your life for free? If everyone would make that, Melda could close doors.

Would be all too good to be true. But Vojtech surprises :)

Please enlight me here :)

Post

It should all be explained here:

https://www.meldaproduction.com/about/subscriptions

Anyways: The target price is always the "current price", so if the bundle price rises, you'll have to pay more. The bundle prices usually rise when new plugins are added, to keep about 70% discount compared to buying the plugins individually. I think you can upgrade to MCompleteBundle any time, the price is then "current price minus sum of what you paid for subscriptions and minus 50% (or is it 70%? damn I forgot, Luke is the expert in that :D ) of what you paid for included plugins".

We are certainly not going to "shut anything down", we never really let people "doomed" :). But of course if an atomic bomb explodes in Prague and kills our servers, things can get messy :D. But I above everyone hope this won't happen :D.

And yes, after your subscription finishes, you get the permanent licence to MCompleteBundle, which contains everything and always will contain everything :).

PS. Yes, it's a bit good too be true and sometimes are sort of regret the supercool licence model we have, especially since there always are haters, which always find something to complaint... Didn't hear from any for a while though :D

Vojtech, Luke,
your service, your patience, your products and the philosophy are just plain awesome. Please don't change or let you spoil all the joy by negative poled people. Keep up the visionary thoughts. Something like this payment method or MXXX is simply unmatched. I want to say thank you.

:tu:

I am totally sold.

Cheers

You´re very welcome. I just think you deserve it.

I always had a heart for "underdogs" and out of the box thinking people. People who have passion AND unflinching visions in what they do and haven´t lost their nerd-gen and the feel for their customers...and therefore besides VALHALLA, KLANGHELM, U-HE, GLITCHMACHINES, WOLFGANG PALM, ROB PAPEN, PLOGUE CHIPTUNES, MADRONA LABS, MOK/ TRACKTION and some single devs like AUDIO NEBULA or ADMIRAL QUALITY and TONE2, MELDA PRODUCTION has reached the area among my alltime favorite developers.

And again I have to state that there is not one thing on the market that is getting even close to the power and versatile possibilities of MXXX...this thing is sheer madness and heaven alike for people like me who give a damn to conventions or popular opinions about what music is and how it has to be or sound. It´s just "limitless", inspiring, intuitive, very good sounding and an open door to an experimentation-wonderland I always dreamed of. :D

Wow I had not heard of Wolfgang Palm. Those synths look very interested. I am trying the demos.

Awesome stuff, foremost the PPG Infinite PRO. And if you like PPG wavetable stuff in general, you should urgently look for a WALDORF BLOFELD hardware unit too. Contains all the older PPG WALDORF stuff and has an incredibly deep modulation matrix.

Joyful modulation.

Not looked deeply into Infinate PRO yet. But it has really impressed me. I like the idea of separating sound into it's tonal and noise elements.

Yes it´s extreme cool to be able to control each and every partial. Plus you can re-synthesize your own sounds and than mangle with the partials too. Great!

But I think we should discuss this in the PPG-forum maybe. After all this is a MELDA section here :P

A joyful modulation :hihi:

He he don't worry, it can be relevant. After all I will be requesting this type of synthesis be added to MYYY anyway.

MYYY is very exciting indeed. Once it has been built further modules can be built and added to it in future. So we should end up with a very wide variety of sound generators. I hope to see some advanced exciter/resonator type OSC. It is going to be a sound designers dream!

You mean physical modelling? Like in KAIVO, ENZYME or CHROMAPHONE2? OH I forgot to mention Madrona Labs in my list above. :hihi:

Post

Yes, physical modelling would be great.
You see, I like chromaphone but there are only like 6 model types, tube, membrane etc.
I would like to see Melda make a resonator editor, so we can make our own physical models.

Have not heard either. Some great sounds in there. However, the arps are playing by themseleves, no need to hit a note, which is strange.

OTOH, the KVR forum seems pretty desert through the years. And I did not find any proper (PDF) documentation with the demos. There are html and graphic files but it's rather cumbersome and only has short descriptions of the commands. Only resource it seems is to explore the synths and make up the pieces as one goes along. Maybe that's what they call 'user friendly' in the iOS world :D

The Infinte synth might have a problem in refreshing modulated knobs. What I see here is a flickering black rectangle around each modulated knob when they're refreshed at some LFO rate.

Nice sounds, but ...

Cheers.

Wolfgang played a big role as an inventor of the PPG technology which was implemented in many WALDORF synthesizers (PPG Wave 2.2 / MicroQ e.g./ BLOFELD). Now his VST-plugins are really awesome and a fine further development.

For the PPG InfinitePRO, you really should watch his tutorial videos on YT, he has a own small channel there. You can watch the ones for iOS and the PRO version. They are very good and he explains a lot there. And of course there is the manual. But I think its coming only with installation. His products are a little bit based on out of the box thinking (You have to give PHENOM a try too - it´s fantastic) and you have to switch your mind a little...but that´s what makes his products great.
You have a great envelope mangling in INFINITE PRO - with loop points - plus you can control phase, volume and modulation of every single partial. The re-synthesis function opens new worlds while the mod-matrix is good also. There is a morphing-pad with many functions which makes the synth even more versatile. Filters sound great and all in all it is somehow true to the original PPG wavetable sound but liftet up in a whole new dimension. And now we shouldn´t really discuss such things further more here in the MELDA-thread.

Well, you mentioned all those names, so that has generated some interest :D

I have tried them all. They all have interesting sounds here and there. The UI problem in one prevents any further interest. A bit of the same with the Wave* synths and their arps playing w/o hitting a note. A bit of a dismay also that Phonem ships with a series of test speech files, as if it's a toy or something not serious. The pads are interesting though. Yes, he's the creator of PPG Wave, but that does not evaluate what he's doing today. I also tried all of Madrona. Nice UI, not impressed much at all by the sounds which attracts all attention to themselves, eg. must be the center piece to appreciate all nuances and do not blend much with existing music. Which is sometimes a problem with synth sounds developed too much in isolation, or with very light 'background' music.

So I got Blue2 instead. 8)

Cheers.
