I like MSoundFactory too, BUT (warning: I may ruin it with the following comment!) I keep thinking of "MSoundMachine", as in, Miami Sound Machine. 
Personally I'm kind of partial to MModularInstrument. For me, that is the "Informative and without jargon" option. Although, I suppose, it does sound sort of ordinary somehow.(?) And "Factory" does have a sort of unusual AND functional quality to it... Hmmm.
I'm sure Vojtech is already regretting having started this thread.

It's a really good name.
I think it wins over MModular for 2 reasons.
1. Modular sounds like the hardware modular racks and this will be nothing like a hardware emulation.
2. Modular FX in MXXX would have to be renamed for clarity.

Well, right now MModular wins, but I agree that it does imply modular HW... so already made my mind, it will be MSoundFactory, I love that!
