For freezing, having a qwerty key combo
for start/stop would be handy, or assign
a midi note for start/stop
Cheers

Yeah instant buy. I have every Soft Delay available on Mac except the UAD offerings. Colour Copy is very easy to use and sounds awesome.

Yes. As I am not good at using FL Studio, I had to google how to set it up.
You have to create a new MIDI channel, and set a Port number in it.
Then go to the VST wrapper settings of the plugin, and set the same port number for the MIDI input port.
Et voilà, now you can use the key mode in ColourCopy.

I have to congratulate Urs and friends on a very user friendly, easy-to-use delay. Love the looping feature and display which allows you to mess with looping points and timings, clearly.

My only criticism is that I felt the Colour dial was a bit difficult to get accurate 'colour' selections (may be it could click to each colour while holding shift could mean you can mix).

Anyway, carry on the great work.

It is a very nice modern/retro delay effect, but I won't be buying it yet, simply because I have some well specified delay stuff. A new delay gets into "Gear Aquisition Syndrome" areas.

I have demo'd it and tried many extreme knob combinations and have not got any weird audio artifacts out of it. No crackling or breaking up...very smooth, silky even. Perhaps that is the old fashioned bucket brigade technology...HA!

But great sound is kinda normal now, not only from u-he, but because it is basically the state of the modern industry, tech wise. Still, I always feel that some special effort has been put into a u-he product.

Could it be spiritual? :hihi:  And what does that even mean?

Most of my posts on KVR are about GUI, so let's go...Colour Copy has a lovely GUI, and in 2018 here is what I know:

As I become a more sophisticated plug-in shopper, I am not going to be using plugs or DAWS with silly interfaces. Well, that ship has sailed, baby.

Because when I open a u-he plug, I never have to be concerned about thin silly fonts, unusable, embarrasing colour combinations, or just a plethora of uninspiring workflow initiatives...

So I am really posting just to give a pleasant "hats off" to Urs Heckmann and the entire team for tackling these issues head on, these *GUI issues*, and making honest-to-goodness tangible progress in the whole area of workflow, usabilty, multi size GUI, etcetera.

And heck, mann, I might as well just throw in superb preset management as well! And I already said they sounded good. Sure!

In conclusion, there is some gratitude over here. Thanks alot guys! A nice amount of gratitude actually, and also some for Linux efforts, but Linux is another subject.

Wow, I still have that 25% coupon...

And as I sit here drinking beer, I simply want to cheer u-he on in terms of good, solid plug-in development.

Just bought it. Feeding CC with Bazille sounds incredibly lush. Same goes using Diva. Congrats Urs & team, another killer plugin in your catalogue ;)

Alright. Just bought this mofo too. I think this is the delay elton john uses? Sure sounds nice. Brings back lots of BBD memories! Just when I thought there couldn't be another delay I'd want.... there it is! :phones:

only small downside:
i think it's a little bit too tame (sometimes)

the first delay degrades as expected,
but the second and sucsessive delays remain
imho too long too static
would be nice, if i could tweak this behaviour[snip...]
How about a knob that adjusts the "fade shape". Middle is linear. to the left is more concave (repeats drop in level faster), and to the right is more convex (repeats drop in level slower). :phones:

No way. Elton never buys on special price and he ignores any plug below $200. He looks for the most expensive "boutique" delays.

Elton doesn't know what he's missin'

Urs could you jack the price up 1 day a year past $200 so that Elton can buy it?

then down to $20, so i can afford it too?

My favorite feature of this delay (and perhaps the most unique?) is the key mode. It's fun to send it into a synth with audio input so that Colour Copy is like the oscillator. (BTW, I couldn't yet get zebrify envelopes to not have clicks, though hopefully I have overlooked something).

Would it be reasonably possible to allow .tun alternate tunings to be used for the key mode?
