MTurboComp: Time Graph Settings - Level detector missing.

Hi there,

First of all I would like to say hello to all members of Melda community.

In these last few days Ive been demoing MTurboComp and MDynamic. IMHO, both are top-notch processors

It happens that I cannot find in MTurboComp the level detector (is supossed to be in Global Meter View - Time Graphh Settings), however in MCompressor, MModernCompressor and MDynamic that option does appear.

I wonder if someone is so kind to tell me where the level detector is in MTurboComp. Thank you very much for reading the post!!

Check the edit screen. If you’re talking about the part that shows the transfer curve of the compression, its in there.

Below you will find MCompressor and MTurboCom edit windows. The option is named "Level Detector".

Yes, it's not there, because MTurboComp would actually need 4 . It has 4 parallel detectors, which are mixed somehow, each of them potentially working differently, so... You'll have to survive without this one here I'm afraid. I'd again recommend focusing on the ears and no any kinds of meters. It's way too easy to start juding everything visually, because it's so obvious, and forgetting that these are just meters and we are talking about music, which gets in our heads through our ears not eyes

Thanks for clarifying the level detector issue. You convinced me, I will buy MTurboComp

Sure! Music is all about "ears" and all about "what comes out from the speakers" (as Mr. Schewps states). However, for those who (including me that after having been several years messing around with plugins and hardware units) doesnt have highly developed ear skills, to identify some aspects, visual tools are still important

Not talking about in-your-face compression, parallel compression, side-chaining or compression as leveller or gluer, talking about the kind of subtleties or nuances you can achieve with a comp (subliminal frecuency excitement/movement or whatever you might name it) and by the way,IMHO, MTurboComp aims to be the perfect tool, above most competitors, for this purpose, as well as the first ones I mentioned.

And about visual tools - I understand and agree. But we should keep it simple imho. And level detector graph is something really above the standard stuff, which usually even isn't useful imho.
