XYs and macros are absolutely able to do exactly that - pretty much how it was done in Alchemy.

Not the same for me. Maybe if i would set macro settings to an XY pad.
Alchemy is king here for sure.

i dont know if this has been asked, but is there planned sample playback in Z3? :)

Post

No. Sample import as fodder for wavetables - yes.

Yes Sir...

Each time you fire up the synth,a sampled voice is going to say,"Welcome to Zebra 3"
No auto tune...

Ah ok. I think generic sample playback mode would make it an even stronger synth and put in between alikes like Alchemy, Omnisphere, Avenger.

Post

I'd say use those other synths for their strengths and leave Zebra be Zebra. :)

Sample playback is a nice extra to use with oscillatora and those nice zebra fx. But just for that its not something i would buy those synths. :-D i hope kontakt 6 will have some basic oscillators at least :-)

In my opinion, these are not alike Zebra and I have no desire for Zebra to be like them.

Sample import moves the sound design effort away from the synth, towards the creation of samples. The synth behind the samples becomes surplus.

I just wanted to write and say how much I love Zebra 2 and thank the developers for creating it. It's a wonderful synth, and a lot of fun to use, it feels virtually limitless. I love the interface, I love that it is well maintained, I love that it only shows what you are using so the display isn't so cluttered up, I basically love everything about it.

I know the developers put a lot of love into it and I just wanted to be another voice letting them know that their work was not in vain. We all really appreciate your hard work and all that you did to create Zebra 2 and look forward to Zebra 3 and the future. That said, even without a Zebra 3, Zebra 2 would have a lot of staying power because it is such a terrific synth.

There are just a few synths you have to have, and Zebra 2 is right there.

I'd suggest to go with Falcon if you want a great and very well featured combination of sampling and synthesis.

Not worth for my purposes. When using sample content oscilator is a good extra to compliment the sample. Like for ex add the missing body that was lost during excessive distortion and via versa

In zebras case sample playback is cool to make those Binary Finary style plucks out of organic sounds.

Come to think you can do this in Serum via noise oscillator just at a very limited level. Will have to revisit that part :D

You're missing out on a LOT of fun, Falcon is just that - fun. :tu:

It's so easy just to layer a sample (or synth with samples) with Zebra...

I'm glad Zebra does not have sample capability and I hope it never does. I very much appreciate the emphasis on synthesis!

Zebra already has the tools to add back some missing body... samples aren't needed for that. Zebra as is can also do an amazing range of different and organic sounding plucked sounds.

And with Zebra 3, you will be able to resynthesize audio into wavetables right in Zebra...
