Collective Content not recognized, Waveform 8

So I'm a Win10 64-bit guy, and bought myself a ROLI Seaboard block. It doesn't work with my DAW, so I'm forced to ReWire into the most recent version of Waveform 8 (which I received free with the keyboard, and downloaded from the website). I say forced, not because I'm opposed to using Tracktion, but because I cannot load any stock instruments into the thing.

It recognizes ROLI's Equator VST just fine (without me even telling it to), but i install collective content (as well as the content... of... collective content, wtf guys), and no cigar.

I search my hard drive for days, and find the install location in a hidden system folder, and ask tracktion to scan that folder (as well as Steinberg et.al.) for plugins, vst2/vst3... No joy...

Help? What am I missing?

On my W10 laptop, the Collective DLL is in folder
c:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins

Its name is
Collective (64 bit).dll

Took me about 10 seconds with a handy DOS command, but nobody else is old enough to remember these.

Hope that helps.

DOS isn't dead, it just morphs and keeps the old timers happy. I only wish PowerShell were a little more intuitive...

I need to dig into Powershell too.

a fair bit of DOS is still second nature for me, and I'd much rather use it than have the utterly crappy Windows indexing using 500000% CPU indexing everything down to the nanogluon level for something I don't need. My advice for all Windows users - and for Microsoft too - is turn off indexing immediately and never ever ever consider using it again.

It did actually... I didn't realise Waveform only scans the root level of each folder (and not subfolders)... so, now it recognises collective content, but says "deactivated after failing to initialise correctly" in the plugin description.

confirmed 64-bit waveform and 64-bit collective content. uninstalled everything, reinstalled everything. no joy. I may just buy a Mac and use Logic at this point, lol.

It sounds like it something might have gone wrong during the scan.
Can you grab the latest Collective beta from your downloads page please?

Once you've installed that, selected the Collective listing on the "Plugins" page that's in red text and press delete. Try to scan again and it should find it.

Hope that helps,
Dave
