I'm also trying to insert my purchased key.
It is the same procedure on High Sierra.

There are two library locations, one system library, and one user library.
You probably just checked the system library location (/Library/Application Support/u-he).
But you need to go to the user library location (/Users/username/Library/Application Support/u-he).

If you can't find it, it's because Apple hides it from the user by default.
Only other possibility is that you are using a sandboxed host, like Garageband. Then the plist file is saved in a special sandboxed folder.

These FAQ entries might be helpful:
https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#compa ... garageband
https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#troub ... er-library
Not using a sandboxed host. I use Bitwig (mostly) and Logic supplementally

I remember changing my settings to reveal hidden files and folders, and I don't see a library folder in my user profile

You can not not have a user library, it's needed by the system for all kinds of things. It's there, it's just hidden.
Open a Finder window, then in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on the "Go" menu.
Now hold down the SHIFT key. This will temporarily show the user library as long as you hold down the key.

But there is now an easier way to enter your serial.
Download and install the release candidate of Colour Copy (see the corresponding thread here on KVR).
Start the plugin, then click on the main display, and there will be an option saying "enter non-beta serial number".

Would not it be rather the Alt (Option) key ?

Probably depends on your MacOS version. Here in Sierra, it's the Shift key.

in sierra it is SHIFT
in MountainLion it is option...

they reveal the additional "Library" menu-entry
between "Home" and "Computer"

those were the days of consistency of apple user interface guidelines...

btw,
the release version of CoCo has an extra possibility to enter your personal serial number

amp ducking is a nice addition
and congrats to the colour namings

Congrats U-he, this is another amazing plugin and sounds great! No problems at all in Reaper x 64. :tu:

Made 10 presets for it while playing and will post them up with an audio demo shortly.

I see that the feedback knob is called "Regen" (short for "regeneration"). I always wonder why plugin developers do stuff like this.

Specifically: In delays, although you do see "regen", "feedback" is a vastly more common term for this parameter. If a dev is trying to recreate some classic delay module that originally used the term "regen", fair enough. But if not (as with Colour Copy), it must have been a conscious choice to eschew the more common "feedback" in favor of the less common "regen".

So Urs, if you're listening, why was this design decision made? And why do you think some other devs opt for non-standard terminology when more familiar terms exist?

Maybe it's a fun little pun?

Now I've made a comparison. In my opinion, the Colour Copy did very well. The most obvious difference is the saturation caused by the preamp in the Memory Man and the crackling sounds from the dusty pots. Hear for yourselves!

Korg Mono/Poly:

Fender Telecaster:

The first one is always Colour Copy. I used a big box EHX Memory Man from early 200x. Download on SoundCloud for uncompressed 48khz 24bit sound.
Thanks for the work put on this. I'm surprised you put the delay after the amp, not the classic delay pedal setup. I got the delay as I don't have a stereo delay pedal so I knew I'd love to explore this for non mono sources and I avoid having to reamp :)
I placed the delay pedal and Colour Copy last only because it was practical and the fastest way to make an ok comparison. In hindsight, I think the signal I sent from the computer to the Memory Man was a little too hot, and it made more saturation than I actually intended. I was first planning to run both delays trough my Fender Deluxe Reverb, but didn't bother to do this this time. However, I've had great results running VSTs into it in the past. I have actually been playing with the thought of running VSTs live trough my mac into my Fender amp live, and Colour Copy would be great for that. The new spring reverb also, obviously. Maybe I should make a comparison between that and the reverb tank in the Fender next. :)

There's no rules, friend. Feedback, Regen, whatever. Urs has already used this term on the Lyrebird delay, it makes sense to use it here, too, as this plugin is essentially the big brother upgrade of Lyrebird. I don't think anybody has any trouble understanding what Regen means or what the knob does, so what difference does it make? It's a label. It works. Fin.

And I never denied any of that. I'm not saying Urs was wrong to use "regen". I'm saying that since "feedback" is much more common, it must have been a conscious decision to use a less common term (either on Colour Copy or Lyrebird). So I was just asking about the thinking behind that decision.

Love it in general.. BUT why no reverse Delays? Would make it much more versatile and I could get rid of the FM8 FX
