Hi again,

shortly after ColourCopy, we are proudly pres(s)enting yet another release candidate,
continuing the string of updates with Presswerk 1.1.2.

Presswerk 1.1.2 RC 7669 Mac (AAX/AU/VST2/VST3/NKS)
Presswerk 1.1.2 RC 7669 Win (AAX/VST2/VST3/NKS)
Note: Linux version tba

This version comes with our new preset browser.
It's also compatible with MacOS High Sierra (no more unsorted presets).
And we are happy to say that we got the NKS approvement stamp from NI.

We are aiming for a release on the 14th of August.

Changelog (everything that has changed since version 1.1.1 - revision 4596):

New features and improvements:

* New Preset Browser
* NKS FX compatibility
* MacOS High Sierra compatibility
* Plugin format & OS info shown next to revision number
* Init preset can be loaded from main display
* Increased maximum number of skins from 10 to 20
* Mouseover shows parameter values in main display
* Improved handling of 14bit MIDI CC assignment
* Added UTF-8 support for user names (registration)
* GUI performance improvements on Windows
* Windows installer now certified

Bug Fixes:

* Fixed unsorted folders and presets when using APFS file system in macOS High Sierra
* Fixed possible crash in Cubase when selecting presets (Mac OS X only)
* Fixed an issue where VST3 wasn’t remembering preset name in main display (Windows only)
* Fixed an issue where instance parameters were not recalled correctly in some hosts (Windows only)
* Fixed an issue where long preset names could extend outside the Preset Browser window
* Fixed an issue where switching between presets could sometimes result in wrong Wet Gain setting
* Various small fixes and improvements

IMPORTANT: Due to the new preset browser, it is important to install the update into the same location as the previous version, and to make sure to select all previously installed plugin formats during installation. Alternatively, you can remove the old installation, and start over with a fresh installation. But it is crucial to not mix old (rev. 4596) and new (rev. 7669) plugins, since the old versions can not cope with the new preset browser, and will crash (or otherwise misbehave) if you try to load them.

Don't forget to move this up to the Announcements section of the forum where the other release announcements have gone.

It's not forgotten, I just don't have the rights to create announcements here. Have to wait for Urs to do that. :wink:

Done!

Hi Urs. Any plans to incorporate negative ratios like Valley People Dyna-mite or mpressor?

Post

YES! As a macOS user, I thank you for getting these all updated.

WOOT!

i installed this update and secretly was hoping it will fix this strange issue. I have posted it in FL Studio forum

Just hit search in browser and find Presswerk :)

Thanks for the update! New browser is smooth as in Diva and Zebra!

I might be mistaken since I don't have the above mentioned compressors so correct me if I'm wrong, but after some googling and reading it seems that "negative compression" not only compresses but actually lowers the signal once it passes a certain threshold. And if that's correct, then that's what the "Non Lin" parameter in Presswerk does when turning it up, just look at the compression graph. Experiment with Threshold, Ratio and Non Lin to achieve the desired result.

Unless of course "negative compression" does something else, in which case, feel free to elaborate!

Presswerk has this already, set non-linear to +50 and push ratio knob to the right, its not extreme by any means ofcourse :)

Yeap this is how negative ratio works in Presswerk, already tested it against mpressor vst version and result is very similar :)

Post

I did try using the non-Lin knob. The only thing is that I have to drive the signal extrmely hard to get the gain reduction to start dipping into the negative territory on the ratio/threshold graph on the GUI. Would you show a screenshot to see if there’s a setting that I might be missing?

Post

Lower the threshold.
