This synth can produce some amazingly rich and beautiful timbres...
Re-synthesizing a Celtic harp glissando with Icarus, each oscillator uses a different synthesis type and dedicated morphing mode (FM in OSC2), modulation wheel introduces tempo-synced amplitude/formant modulation and increases the speed of all other LFOs. 100% Icarus.

A small animated duet made with two Icarus patches and nothing else.

Improvising with a fresh Icarus patch which uses vocal re-synthesis in two oscillators, quite beautiful sounding...

Again, if you put out a soundset like this, dedicated to atmospheres and pads (eg. a full focus on those kind of sounds, no need for basses, drum sounds, leads ... which are found a-plenty in the Tone2 soundsets anyways
), then it's an instant buy.
Cheers.

Track made with a single Icarus patch - re-synthesized cello in two oscillators, the second oscillator is looping the wavetable backward/forward and has overtone modulation applied (Morph). Aftertouch adds vibrato/increases detune, modulation wheel introduces tremolo FX with speed modulation via the step modulator.

Well, these Sampleconstruct patches are not quite my thing but they do sound good. Probably they show the strongest point of Icarus, all sorts of long evolving pads, atmospheres etc. May consider purchasing it at some point, I've been on a fence since the release.
Does it import Serum wavetables?
Does it import Serum wavetables?
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Yes, it imports Serum WTs and also exports WTs in wav format so you can use them in Serum/Falcon. And the WT editor in Icarus really is top notch.

Sampleconstruct wrote:Finally got around to test Icarus, spent a few hours with the demo yesterday and bought it straight away. One of the best hybrid synths I've encountered in a long time.
My first Icarus patch using a re-synthesized vocal texture in OSC1 and a single cycle waveform from my Kaleidoscope subscription in OSC2.
what i felt demoing Icarus, it wasn't straight away and played with it a few days, wait it was just 2 days if i remeber correctly
anyhow, maybe not the best in paper and still would love to have MSEG's but it has work arounds, features i didn't find in any other synth and simply love the sounds i get out of it...
it has steadily been becoming the synth i enjoy the most... reason..... i get lost and lost and lost in time noodling around in it, sometimes i just open a couple of patches and play with it and 15 min later i'm thinking to myself; this wasn't my objective when i opened cubase... FOCUS!...
