when bipolar sine(at 100% amplitude) is used as lfo to modulate gain,during negative cycle there is no volume at all(meter shows negative infinity).so,to get volume change through out cycle unipolar lfo should used?(and start phase changed to start at zero)

It's up to you and what effect you're after what modulation you apply. You can have a volume change continuously without using unipolar, by setting it not to apply to 100% of the range of what's being modulated. If you vary by 30%, say, and set the level being modulated to 70%, then the level will vary between 40% and 100%.

it doesn't seem to work like that (lfo amplitude is multiplied with gain).in the following screencap i have set oscillator at default gain,when the lfo is negative(mod monitor) it still shows 100% level.

The LFO has a number of inputs which can affect its effect. You also have other options on how to route it before passing to the oscillator.

(Can't try it out at the moment.)

You have the LFO connected to the Pitch input not Volume.

Once connected correctly you can double click the sine shape and delete the bottom point and drag the red loop line left, you can then alter the LFO Amplitude level to suit. Also you could double click the green connecting cable and alter the curve amount from within the window that pops up.

thanks for the tip of editing lfo shape.sorry that screencap is wrong.but connecting to gain has the problem that when lfo is -ve there is no volume output.(maybe not a problem,but that is how it is supposed to work)
can someone explain the maths,manual says gain value is multiplied with modulation signal, what happens when 0db is multiplied by lfo amplitude say 30%.(decibels is hard to understand unit!)

There indeed was some info missing in the docs:

When the sum of parameter value and modulation signal(s) is negative then the effective value depends whether the parameter is a unipolar or bipolar parameter.
A unipolar parameter goes from 0% to 100% (that's the numeric parameter value, on the GUI this is often shown as a context-specific parameter value text), a bipolar parameter goes from -100% to 100%.
If you have a unipolar parameter value of 50% and you add a modulation value of -75% the effective value will be 0% because the unipolar parameter cannot go below 0%. Similarly a bipolar parameter value cannot go below -100%.
