The punkest thing I've seen out there now that TRULY captures the punk era is ... making music with nothing but CM VST's that you downloaded using the single issue of Computer Magazine you scavenged from somewhere. And yeah ... that's hardware, because computer.
It wasn't about the sound, it really wasn't.
It was about looking other people in the eye and slamming out a song on whatever you had, it was about being raw, and about getting in people's faces.
